Good luck with the lunches at work. I batch cook vegetable soup and each day just take a container from the freezer. They say a habit takes 7 days to form, so if you get in the swing of doing packed lunches for a couple of weeks it becomes 'the norm'. I eat much better than before and it helps the wallet too.
Very grateful to have formed this habit myself as I've only got £800 to live on for the whole of May... but I know I can do it even if the rent for my tiny bedsit is £450 (and that's the cheapest in the area) I haven't won on the premium bonds (I've just checked), but the day I do I'm moving away from here and the shared bathroon with seven others

I must go back to Quidco...
This weekend I'm going to see about creating my own diary, writing up to 300 Dooyoo reviews (on a word document then copy and paste each day like ten or something, instant points and also instant money), close my Alliance and Leicester account, look at Quidco for more of those account opening bonuses and then...
Build an Arc... I've alwasy wanted to build one! :rotfl::beer: Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!

I make up homemade soup in the winter, but am not so keen on it when it is hot! I don't buy lunch EVERY day - I keep a couple of packs of cereal at work which I have sometimes, and if I am inspired I will take in cousous or pasta.
I just need to do it a bit more, and not be tempted by the "ease" of grabbing something from the shop.
But I DO DO DO need to get into the homemade lunch habit a lot more - and hopefully by the end of the month it will be the "norm".
Having said that - all my shopping habits/grocery bills/meal plans etc have slipped recently so a bit of focus all round on the food/shopping thing is in order for May.
Therefore, I will add these to my list:- [STRIKE]meal plan[/STRIKE] done, and shopping list duly made
- [STRIKE]grocery shop using shopping list[/STRIKE] done - enough for two weeks hopefully

Happy Ark building then, Walshy.......watch out for the splinters though!
Meal plan and shopping list are done, so I will go and battle the supermarket once I have finished working. Not my idea of fun, so when I get back home I will start putting together an online shop for next weekend.
I will get organised....I will........I will!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

I have a picture of Shaun loading up the sheep with all the tools and frog marching them up the mountains.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Just catching up on things - is everyone in "take your own lunch to work" mode? I have done that for some time as works canteen expensive and disappointing - the only thing half decent they do is the breakfast fryups! What I do is, when we have stew/lasagne/shepherds pie/curry/bolognese etc I make more than what's needed for the meal and freeze the rest in individual portions, which I take to work for the main meal of the day. With cereal, fruit and yoghourt for the other breaks I am sorted with no need to take money to work with me!
Our chickens are a two-bird destruction squad at present, chewing the leaves off the raspberry canes. Will have to protect my fruit and veggies with some net. Also strutting around the patio pecking at the window so the whole lot needing hosing down today (Saturday is Chicken Tish Patrol and clean out Eglu day). Those b*ggers had better start laying eggs soon to earn their keep!
Hope everyone is well and plodding on.One life - your life - live it!0 -

that's the problem with chickens thick as two short planks and only lay eggs when they feel like it
