No plans other than throw all the matched betting/scratchcard/mystery shop money etc that I can at it.....I need it cleared by September to make it all work, so that is 4 months - £1200 a month  But it reduces by £400 a month anyway from the normal payments, so that makes £800 a month to find.........Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Think i may join you in the lunch challenge if that is ok!!!! there is a vending machine in the canteen and all those 40p's on a packet of crisps or bottle of pop add up dont you know!!
so if it is ok i may hijack that challenge to!
Naughty vending machine its probably in mourning now due to all the time off work I have had! Easily get through 50p-£1 a day. Good luck.
Hypno good luck on finding the £800 a month. Anything extra will help. Have you done an ebay/carboot spurge recently?:j0 -

Not done so far - just not had the time really, but I must get on to it.
£800 a month equals £25 a day.........should be doable with a combination of MSE moneymaking stuff - dooyoo/scratchcards/mystery shopping/matched betting etc and not spending at lunchtimes.
Shaun - looks like you are well within your comfort zone there :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Can I join the lunch challenge too? I scared myself stupid yesterday by looking at how much I've spent in my work canteen in 2009 - ~£150  My total food/cleaning stuff spend so far in 2009 is ~£470. I've spent just over 30% of my food budget in that place and its only barely edible most of the time!
Lunch today is part of an 18p yellow stickered mahooooosive bagette I bought yesterday with some yummy red pepper humous and some random fruitMortgage free as of 12/08/20!

£25 a day Hypno  - if anyone can do it you can but that's a lot of money to find.
We've started (almost) religiously bringing lunch to work - I used to bring things in quite a bit but OH never did - now muggins here is making us both lunch but at least it saves a lot of money - I tend to buy rolls and stuff reduced in Sainsburys and freeze them which helps with costs too.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Well, my homemade lunch is yummy - I probably spend £25 a week on lunches and coffees one way or another, so this is a huge saving I can make (although obviously I need to buy salad stuff to make it at home) so I reckon it is a true saving of about £15 a week, which is quite a lot! I don't get on with bread, so don't tend to bring sandwiches - salad is a bit more expensive, but that is the way it is!
I am quite good at the "getting extra money in" type MSE stuff, but not so good at the "sticking to a budget" type MSE discipline, and this is where I think the key has to lie, not only for getting debt free, but staying that way!
I am getting better, though, we have only had bank charges twice since August, and those were both for silly oversights rather than not having the money there (eg paying for something in the current account that has no money in, instead of the one that does have money in), whereas in years gone by, we got charged by the bank most weeks for somethingSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. I'm back after first day. my eyes are killing 5 hours in front of a screen. At least I've survived! I took an apple and banana for lunch and just eaten some toast. Will have to get on board the lunchtime bandwagon to.
