  • I am saying saying my partner will soon be my ex. All I am stating is that he would be better off.

I have paid taxes for a long time now and very rare use anything related to it: dont use schools, the police, the fire service, rarely the NHS; in fact have private health cover so dont need NHS.

Then perhaps you and your "partner"should be glad you have got this far without ill health or no job?
On the subject of private health if you were run over by a bus tomorrow who`d send an ambulance BUPA or the NHS?
  • I thought the police, fire brigade were covered by council taxes, not income tax.
They are BUT council tax only raises 20% of local authority spending the other 80% comes from income tax via the rate support grant

I am not saying I not / won't support. After I have paid all bills, loan payment etc I have circa £170 for food, social pleasure (not that I do much anyway) and emergencies. So does not leave much to support

You spend over £1800pm on bills & loans, or do you mean you have £170pw left.
  • just harping back to not using the fire service, hospitals etc as you have private health insurance, just what would happen to this if you happened to lose your job, due to something unforseen. You probably wouldnt be able to continue to pay for this, then if you got ill you would then need to use the national health then wouldnt you??
