Hi there. No didn't write the first letter to them, just sent them a secure email asking for the PPI to be cancelled and the premiums refunded. Do you think I should write the first letter to them even if they have cancelled the PPI?
OOPS. Sorry. Didn't read your message properly!! Will send the first letter off and see what happens. :p

  • I have found out the Egg Banking PLC weren't a member of the FSA until 01/12/2001 so I don't know where request for my PPI stands now.

The only route is court action.
You either do that yourself or get a professional to do it.

However, I have since seen the light.
  • Just an update saying that I've had a letter back from Egg saying they have received my complaint and will be dealing with it within 8 weeks!!
  • Just had a letter back from Egg (which is quite quick I think!!) but they have said no!!!

    Hi there

Was that the first response you received?

If so write back again, ask them to reconsider, and tell them if they don't resolve this matter you will consider taking further action.
    It may help, good luck.;)

Before you do this though, they did not state it was the final response did they?

I was successful getting some cash back from Egg over a credit card that was taken out in 2001. I was able to show medical evidence as to why I wouldn't have been covered under the policy and eventually (after about 5 letters and a doctor's note) they agreed to give me back about 60% of what I was asking after I made that offer to them. I was more than happy with that as it did appear to be going nowhere until that point.

They will deny any liability, but if you persist with it, you may be lucky.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

My point is that after a struggle you may get 50% or 60% of your premium. You are due 100% of the premium plus interest to date plus compensation. Do not let them fob you off with less. The problem is that most people just allow them to get away with it.
If you have been ripped off by these people go for what is due not what they would try to get away with.

Yeah this was the first response I've had and it doesn't say the response is final!
