Hi all, I've requested my PPI from a £15000 Egg loan that I was charged £3102. I have the original agreement the only problem is that it was started back in September 1999. Do I have any chance in getting the money back?
Kind Regards

Hi there
There is no harm in trying, do you know if they were covered/regulated by GISC at the time, the FSA taken over these in Jan 2005?
If I am correct, I don't think these were regulated until 2001, the FOS (Financial ombudsman service), are unable to investigate complaints if that particular company were not regulated by either GISC or FSA.
Maybe this can be clarified by someone.
However, there is no harm in trying with a cost of a stamp.;)
Was this actually arranged by EGG or a broker ?The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I can't see anything on the loan agreement that helps. This was done direct with Egg.0

Hi there
It may be worth your while also checking the above success thread out and see if anyone else has had success with these, with older loans.
Is it paid up or still active? The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I defaulted on the debt and it's currently with Cabot debt collecting agency with a value of £33570

I see.
If I were you, I would either check out the success thread or maybe even leave a post on there to ask others who have had dealing with EGG maybe of that time you taken yours out, they may be able to give you some suggestions in how to deal with EGG.
Meanwhile still try, there is no harm in giving it your best shot in reclaiming with your reasons of why you were mis sold.
For more info on reclaiming, here is a link below with useful ppi info and reclaim letter templates, follow the guide on there:

Good luck with this and hope they pay out.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thanks very much for your advice, I sent the letter last week with the reason that they had been fined so I'll wait and see how it goes, also sent a letter for the egg credit card with the same reason. Once again thanks for your advice and I'll keep the post updated if it helps anyone else.0

Sent an email on behalf of OH, he has a CC with Egg. Reclaimed PPI. They have now cancelled but won't pay back any premiums paid to date as they are claiming that the application was done online. Was sure did not request PPI and unchecked the box. Any advice?0

Hi there
Just because it was done online, they fob you off as well as many others who have purchased their finance online.
Do keep on at them.
I take it you have already wrote the first reclaim letter to them then?
If not then please do, if they still refuse, then you always have the FOS to try to investigate this for you if eligible.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi there. No didn't write the first letter to them, just sent them a secure email asking for the PPI to be cancelled and the premiums refunded. Do you think I should write the first letter to them even if they have cancelled the PPI?
