Hey Urg....happy new diary:beer:
Not much I can contribute really...you sound so oganised and raring to go;) I can recommend the scratchcards though....I do 2 each day - you can do one of the St Minver sites (so I use Littlewoods) and I use Take a Break Bingo too. I think I've withdrawn £40 since Jan so far and nearly on another £10 with TAB. It's all money for nothing though;):D
I now use an old savings account to put £10 here and there in to cover my daughter's clubs - I never used to budget for these so when they were all due at once it was a right shock:eek: I love having different accounts now and moving money around :rotfl:
Anyway, I'll be subsrcibing....so keep posting, it definitely motivates you (and is entertaining to read a few months down the line;))
xxI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hi Urg123,
I will follow your diary with interest, we have a few similar goals, I also have exams to study for (I think I've spoken to you before on another thread in DFW) and I am aiming to be debt free by the end of 2009!
Good Luck!0 -
Hi
Okay - since it is pay day I am now in the month of May (makes sense to me;)). I just missed out on achieving my NSD and Grocery Challenge goals last month :mad:so am determined to achieve these. I will update the first post to add these two targets.
I have also removed the percentage paid off my signature because I have been adding to the debt as I have gone on so the amount repaid is not really reflective of how much I have repaid.
I still need to move my dosh about so once that is done I will update my signature. I am really disappointed - I had really hoped to be moving towards the sub £10000 goal but I had to buy a laptop last month and my usual lodger income will not be there this month. I am hoping he will be able to come back - he needs to go home to sort out his Visa.
Anyway, that's all for now.

Hi urg,
Same here, I just bought a new laptop and seen my debt rocket again, was hoping to be under £10K in a month or two but doesn't look likely, aiming for under £11K once made this month's payments.
You'll get back on track with your challenges, there are always downs with the ups! x0 -
Hello
Should be writing but you know how it is - ho hum
Our debts are about the same if I squint (11k ish) and don't count my student loan (13770). Hadn't noticed that before - well done on the GC - you almost got there.....sometimes I think getting on top of that one seems to really knock the other things like NSD's and extra towards debts.
You will be sub 10k before you know it.
And essential spends like laptops - are necessary before you know it you will have paid it off because you are so motivated.
And apart from anything else with the yoga making you taller and the lists making you more organised in no time at all you will have to revise your starting list and add to it
If it makes you feel any better as well you are taller than me too - by 1 1/2 inches.
PS be kind to yourself in May GC wise as its a 5 week month - which I only just discovered with 2 bank holidays OMG..........gets out the emergency cupasoups and rice cakes.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Hi Fay
Just had a weird moment on new 'puter. I know what it is like when you are supposed to be writing - any excuse. I do have to say - I've got to know a lot about you on the daily site and I really do admire you - doing a PhD with 2 kids in tow is no mean feat. I did consider doing one after my masters but it wasn't a subject I was passionate about.
I love your passion about all things botanical too. Am going to get my feet with with a few herbs this year. I might also try something in some pots in the garden - this does mean having to go into more than once every 2 months!
The DFW goals will come - the next few months are going to be dedicated to that and some serious weight loss (am a size 20 - which is not a good look!).
Have decided that I am going to use this month to get back to my roots and cook lots of simple curries using the pressure cooker. I have lots of pulses in the cupboards that are cheap andI love this type of curry. I'm also thinking aobut making my own yoghurt - my mum and grandmothers both make their own and I always help myself. I really does beat the shop bought versions.
Hope you are off to bed soon. I am now going to sign off. See you on the daily thread tomorrow.

Dont admire me I am a walking disaster - not sure I will manage the PhD but I hope so - I love it but don't know if I am the right person for the job - I am also battling other demons at the moment too
I am not focussed enough, can't decide if that means I am too focussed on my own life or I am just a ditz. My MSc was very hard though - anyone who can do one of those I take my hat off too.
Plant wise I am sure there will be something that doesnt need much more than a glance out of the window - there's a type of plant to suit any type of gardening!! Remember to ask me when you feel like tackling it - I will do my best to confuse myself and think of something to suit.
Herb wise - I grow my most used ones and freeze/dry them - I'd love to know how to make home made yoghurt though. Sounds awesome and I can OK at curries but not great at pulse based ones.........might ask for your help at some point.
Nighty night - sidles off quietly - ta for sharing on your lovely diaryTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

GRRRRRRRR!
I got home this evening to find a letter from the finance company regarding my sofas! They reckon I'm in arrears. I don't see how seeing as payments are due to start in December 2009! This is the second time I am having to try and sort out this loan - NOT impressed. I've posted on the main site in the hope of some advice on how to get them to get their house in order.
Did a small shop on my way home - goodies to keep me going through my revision. There's lots of lovely sugary things! I also managed to spend £6 on cheese - I will use some of this for pizzas this weekend. cheaper than getting them delivered!

Hi Urg123, hope you managed to get your sofa people in order?
I wish I had gone and got lots of sugary goods on my way home, I could do with something nice and sweet just now!0 -
Hi Everyone
Still haven't managed a NSD. I had hoped for three this week but most have been LSDs. I have been restrained with my spending and I am not spending money on snack food as I have a well stocked fridge and cupboard.
The revision isn't going that well. I am going to do 2 hours before I go to bed tonight. I will start at 9pm I think. I have to be up til 1am to be on call for my voluntary role so I definatley have the time. I wouldn't mind doing a bit of tidying too - the flat is so yuk at the moment! It doesn't help watching Kirsty doing fun crafts to get her house looking nice!
Hope everyone else is well
