varieties, but we planted a load of Kelvedon Wonder too, and we have been getting enough for a meal for the pair of us every other day for a few weeks now. Mind you we do have a lot of plants, but then again we seem to have a lot of pea moth problems this year compared to usual too  Has anyone else had the same problem?

i'm growing kelvedon wonder as well and i've had a lot of wee holes in many leaves (especially my second round of peas i planted out about a month ago) which i assume are from the pea moths so it's not just you

this is my first year planting peas so i'm a bit new to this particular veg any pointers are greatly appreciated

well can i just say i grew bachelors dried peas from my store cupboard and they have come up amazing!! really!!! got loads of pods with peas inside and i have pulled some off & they taste lovely.. going to plant some more this weekend :)

so were these split peas for soup or the kind for mushy peas? i once grew some dried mushy peas and they grew well, sadly though i had to move house before i got anything out of them

i've also had great luck with mustard seed and coriander seed meant for spices vs planting and i've grown chillis from the seeds of store bought chillis meant for dinner

When you pick peas for seed you are supposed to leave them on the plant until the pods are dry, then shell them, they should be nice little hard peas by now and you then place them in your seed paper bag and leave in the dry till next year.
You may have picked yours too early by the sound of it.

Cut them off now and leave the roots in the soil, they won't produce any more peas, but the roots will add nitrogen to the soil.
You can then use the ground for something else if you want.
