Can you make & receive calls on T.Mobile

I don't know. I ported the number away from T-mobile and the original SIM then stopped working (as the number had gone elsewhere). With the original T-mobile SIM in the phone (now numberless) I get the same message.

I would try and get a T.mobile sim that works and try it out first to see if it works in your phone. It maybe the case that your phone is locked to another network.

Will do that. Apparently it was definitely on T-mobile - even says so on a sticker on its box that we still have. Phone originally from Phones4U, maybe it wasn't ever locked.

BB5 phone I’m afraid, there are no free remote codes, you will have to contact your network provider, or a professional unlocker/market stall. There are remote codes, which you can purchase from the web, on certain networks, but they all cost

Oh. OK, many thanks for trying anyway. There's a stall in an arcade in Kingston, I've seen them with a sign saying they unblock phones. Any idea how much I should expect to pay?
