ToucanSurf Unlimited? Yeah, right! (merged threads)

Anyone have experience of how reliable Toucan are. Am thinking of moving my dad from Virgin to one of Toucan's packages to include his phone calls as well. Seems like he can get off peak phone calls and internet with Toucan for the same price as he is paying for broadband only with Virgin.

Stop right there! I posted about Toucan on here a while back and things have not improved! They ARE Tiscali in disguise.

Now, I have to admit that I use P2P quite a lot, but even if you're not going to use it there are some things you should know:

1) You're limited to 1gb per week in peek times
2) Even if you abide by the FUP your speed will be restricted even outside peek times
3) Unlimited does not mean unlimited speed & downloads, but unlimited time online

If you want anymore info let me know and I'll supply. Bascly if you want to be ripped off then Toucan's a sure fire way of acheving that goal! :T

don't touch toucan - they simply resell tiscali broadband - which is bad enough!

OK, right, thought I'd update this for anyone who's still interested in Toucan!

After a couple of letters from me threatening Toucan with court action I finally got my MAC last Thursday! Just goes to show that they know they're in the wrong.

So, that's that. If anyone wants more information on what I wrote to Toucan, or more interstingly, what their "customer service" chap told me when I phoned them, let me know and I'll copy from another forum I've been posting on.

As for my problem finding another supplier, it's now solved; Ace Internet truely do offer unlimited service!
