 Have a great Birthday Hilstep:beer:

Zippychick - I like my cheese sauce very cheesey so I always use stong cheddar and a small teaspoon of english mustard which brings out the cheese flavour. I add cheese, taste then keep adding till I get to the right strength.

I do have mustard powder in the cupboard but always use normal mustard. That does seem a lot of cheese though have to admit I never weigh it. Was it strong cheese though?

Off now myself to do some ironing, cant get out in my garden to hang the washing out which is slightly annoying, think the weather is meant to be good tomorrow so will have to have Sunday as my washing day.

Popped into a different nursery near the farm shop and picked up some more seedlings. They are in the garden at the moment enjoying the sunshine. Hope OH finishes what he wants today so we can have the garden back.

    Afternoon all,

Just back from a long walk, should only have been 4 miles but we got lost , so my feet are aching a bit. Just shoved a chicken in to cook for tomorrow, and put some cookies in while the oven was on,(I had doubled up on the cookie dough last time, and frozen half, so easy cookies)

I had spoken to dd earlier, they had a great time, and had not slept ALL night , anyway they were due to head into town for the afternoon, got a text about 1/2 hr later to say that she had asked her dad to collect her earlier, something has gone on there, I think she may had had a row with her friends  she would not normally come home early for anything, will ask her later when she gets back.

Feet up now for an hour, then crack on again.

Happy Birthday to D&DD's young man xx

    Bonsoir

On our way back, overnight at B!ziers. Had good weather for travelling, was around 16C when we arrived around 17.30. DH having a snooze as he decided to drive all the way. Have to eat out until we get home so the only OS is to use the Tom-Tom for the best route to avoid tolls.

Thank you to those who recommended Metinium - little bear has a much happier bottom.

Zippychick - Worcestershire sauce for me is essential in any sort of cheese sauce, but I think you do need the 'kick' of something like mustard, tobasco, chutney. I think you need to break down the richness of all that dairy.

    Hugs to all.

I've just found this blog Bread and Roses. It isn't American and has lots of stuff about domestic history, old housekeeping books as well as recipes. I haven't had a chance to read much but thought you girls and boys might like it;)
