Nappy changing nightmare!

  • Ok here goes now no laughing but this just happened today
"A TAMPON" yes you heard right "A TAMPON" El found them in my bedroom so took them to her bedroom so when it was nappy change I gave her one she got it opened and loved playing with it!! Well stranger things have happened!!

When my son was a toddler, my packs of tampons would frequently go missing from the bathroom - DS emptied them out the packet and used them as freight in his toy trucks and lorries, loading them up with tampons and driving them about! I would find little piles of tampons stacked up in various places around the house!

    Hi,

I had this problem my two. On my second, a midwife suggested leeting my daughter hold a lage tub of cream during nappy changing - this in effect weighed her down and she stayed put whilst enjoyed holding the tub. Good luck - it won't last long!

Hi Ladylumps, she does this to you because she knows she can, lol.

Talking of tampons; when my nephews were small they got hold of their mum's sanitary towels (with wings) and stuck their new 'aeroplanes' all over the walls! :rotfl:

    Hi Cookiemonster,

I don't know if you've cracked your problem yet, but someone just recommended this product on another forum and I immediately thought of this thread, and thought it might help!

It's basically a changing mat with an integrated harness... Changing Mat

If you're interested in the thread where it's recommended, you can find it here.

    Hope this helps!

Take the nappy off outside, stand them on the grass and use the cold water hose.

Then put them on the mat, if they wriggle, take them outside and hose them down again.

Next nappy change, put them on the mat, if they wriggle, show them the hose....you shouldn't have a problem again. :D

(no...I never did this....just sounds a good idea....:rotfl:I used the ankle 'technique)
  • My daughter is 22 months and we have the same problem. Occasionally she will lie down and let me do it, but mostly I just have to chase her, corner her, then take off the nappy and wipe while she's still standing up. We use pull ups, so it's not hard to get a clean one on. I used to try to get her to co-operate but now I just tell her that it needs changing and go for it. I try to change poos on wipe-clean floors [weep]
I like you. I shall kill you last.

What about stirrups similar to what they used to strap pregnant women into? :D

I can't help thinking that you'd want to try this out first. When mine were wiggly, getting them strapped into this would have been as much of a battle as pinning them down in the first place. :rotfl:
