Nappy changing nightmare!

If the mess was particularly bad (one incident in particluar sticks in my mind, it was EVERYWHERE!) I would pop them in the shower/bath quickly. Once mine turned into wriggly worms, I always used to change them standing up, much easier and less stressful for everyone.0

Have you tried changing her the other way round so that her head is towards you and her feet facing away. In this position you can gently hold her head between your knees - believe me it works.0

Hi Guys!!
I just wanted to say that this thread is really funny! It's brightened up my morning and made me remember that when my wee girl started walking (on New Year's day!!) she got up really quickly from the floor and took off into the kitchen with her bum still dirty! Although I had to go and clean up the bits of poop that seemed to end up everywhere, it's one of my most treasured memories of her!Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

This position has another advantage, you can swoop down and kiss them / tickle their tums / make funny faces close up without getting too close to the business end. :rotfl:Have you tried changing her the other way round so that her head is towards you and her feet facing away. Hi my ds is the same....I have tried several things like you. But I have found it is worse if I lay him down or make him lie down. I walk him into bedroom, we get the nappy and wipes out together and I ask him to lie on the mat and give it a pat to show him I want to sit, then lie down. It is really working!! He decides to lie down and he often picks up a toy on the way to the mat and plays with it - rather than me giving him the nearest thing to hand that he doesn't want to play with and picking him up and laying him down.
I also hold his ankles - and he is really strong but it works - be strong back. Don't get angry - just say a firm no - and a angry mummy look helps lol!
Good luck - these phases are all fun aren't they.SAHM Mummy tods (born Oct 2007) and dd (born June 2010)0 -

We had this problem. We got a 'Rabbitts' changing mat. They have straps so the baby can't roll over. She soon got the idea that she couldn't roll over, and stopped trying.0

Lol Scruffy, my DD is a nanny & when one of her little charges found a tampon she drew a face on it & said it was a mouse in his house.

I used to lay DS on a towel or changing mat under his baby gym, with his bottom end over the side - obviously a bit messy unless you do it on the floor
he'd be that busy looking in his little mirror at himself I'd be done in no time. :hello:
