I was intrigued.......... 2 kettles??
Dee you have a lovely cosy kitchen, and the same kettle as me.
Hmmm you can see I have a fixation with kettles, I love them. Always planning my next one.
Forgot to mention, did a pantry inventory, since I've actually got a 'store stock' these daysand I found 960 typhoo teabags, 100 twinnings and 125 earl grey. Might not have much food till pay day but we won't go short of a brew.
Dee thats what I call a homely kitchen.Theres no way I'm posting pics of mine at the moment as my youngest decided to display his artistic talents in black marker pen all over my kitchen wall.So we've had to strip the walls and in the best tradition of hubbys mine has been very reluctant to tile the walls ever since. But if and when he should ever do so I will gladly post some pics

cheerfulness4~ the reason for two kettles is. one is for the gas which i use as it cheaper to run , but take's longer. so in mornings when i need to do hubby's flask in a hurry i use the electric one. Otherwise he would be late for work , lol.
DDD your kitchen is really nice. so homely.
i not sure about doing a complete u shape kitchen. our neighbour down road has done that and her kitchen looks so tiny. i like space and clean line's. if that makes sence.
Hubby said let him finish the lounge and hallway. then build the 3rd bedroom upstairs and do some other job's. once he has done that. if it not time to start on my veg plot and green house. he will change kitchen around to get in a bigger oven. SO i gonna have to wait until prob the baby born. But it will give us time to draw some plans and thing's.
i love seeing pic's. so please show more.
i am thinking i might do some baking today. i really fancy making a bakewell. but might make mini bakewell's. ( otherwise i'm tempted to eat the whole lot, lol)
Need to go and do some food shopping. need some basic's.Got £10 left for Jans food budget, which runs out on the 22nd. but think gonna be spending more than that. however even if i spend £40 until then it means my food ill for jan has been just £100. which is very good for me. but also my little boy refuses to go in the buggy. so i am not popping to town as much and spending £15 - £20 and bit's. which has got to be good.0 -

someone may be along with a simpler explanation shortly... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Hi girls, I am rather enjoying seeing all your kitchens.:D well, lusting after them if I'm being honest!
Mine is awful. We live in a 100 year old terrace and the kitchen is a fair size but sooooo badly designed. We inherited it from the family before.
Along one wall we have a ff, then 2 double cupboards and a single cupboard but in the middle of that is a gas hob and extractor fan. There is a double wall mounted cupboard next to the extractor. Next to that there is a wall mounted double oven with a cupboard above and a space under which we keep our blue box in.
Along the other wall there is a small tumble dryer, largish single cupboard, (this is the one we keep the food in), dishwasher, double and single cupboard under the sink, large window above the sink and then the washing machine. There are open shelves on this wall and a boiler above the washer.
we also have a cellar but it's crammed full of junk and is damp, so no good for storage, sadly.
I have 4 kids aged 4 and under, the youngest being 6 months! I don't have a lot of time to 'do' anything, but that's cos I seem to spend what little free time I have on the computer.
Right, I've waffled on enough and littl'un has woken up, so I'll be back later!.0 -
Dunno if this will work but here's some photos of my (rather mucky/untidy) kitchen:
The floor is so dirty because we don't have carpeting anywhere, dust blows in from the garden (we can sweep/hoover and half an hour later the place is dusty again - having a dog doesn't help) and when my OH does the washing up, half the water ends up on the floor. So there's always dirty footprints everywhere. lol. I've also not taken down the xmas decs yet cos my back is hurting a lot. a very "lived in", kitchen. plants on the windowsill are (l to r) a rather battered amaryllis i felt sorry for in Mr T's, a small 'allo, Vera plant (which is hiding), a rather battered bromelia, and an avocado plant i grew from an avocado stone. the other green is a bunch of coriander. I made the blind and net curtain myself
The other end of the kitchen. Door out to the hall is on the right, before the wall on the right (the freezer is tucked behind the wall on the right, the fridge behind the wall on the left). the lil green/blue box on the floor is my composting caddy. Next to the door out to the hall on the right, behind the plastic bag that is *just* visible on the right of the photo, is my pantry.
my pantry!!
jcr - do you believe me now when i said that my kitchen isn't anywhere near as clean and tidy as yours?
keth
xx
p.s. photos don't seem to have worked.the links should work at least. if nothing else. sorry!
