Where abouts in the Black Country are you from Black Saturn, I was born and bred in Portobello/Willenhall :D and still here! I am also intending to stay here once I qualify and give something back to such a great community.
Well I was born in West Bromwich and most of my family still live there and around the Dudley area. I've just written a 12 page dissetation (dont even know how you spell it) on the Black Country Living Museum (yawn).

Next I have to write about the cultural aspects of the Black Country so any pointers will be of some help.

I just wanted to say Sarahsaver - your kitchen is EXACTLY as I imagined it would be!

Here's ours :D Small, cluttered and dated with hardly any cupboard space I'm afraid... but hey, one day I'll have my own place...

I wish my kitchen was that big. Yours reminds me of the one in one foot in the grave.

Hmm cultural aspects of the black country...I'm stuck! I guess one of the biggest things is the cultural diversity, you can find nearly every nationality and religion in the BC. Dudley has a culture all of its own ;)

BTW I love the black country museum :)

On the cultural question doesn't Walsall have a brilliant art gallery,I've been to it but can't remember if it's Walsall or Wolverhampton.I love the Black Country Museum, fave school trip destination of all Midland schools.Went to Dudley zoo for the first time last Oct- it was brilliant. :)

If I could work out how to put my kitchen pics on here I wouldn't be wurbling on about the Black Country :rotfl:

ocemeer - I love your kitchen. And I would love a huge range cooker - but wouldn't be practical in my kitchen.

Actually - I'd love a big victorian house with an aga (and a modern oven too :D) We can all dream, can't we ...... wanders away day-dreaming.......

the oven is not that great only a single shelf so not brilliant for baking in, though the hob is fantastic.

rayburn going in the bottom picture, well into the dining room and the bottom picture having everything else for a kitchen. not quite a big victorian house but finally get the rayburn/aga i have always wanted:drool:
will post after easter, fingers crossed with new kitchen

    windym.
