Sybil - I've done this before today and would advise that you are VERY careful. I let it dry for 24 hours but DH wouldn't let me plug it in, thankfully, as when he cut the plug off to change it for another one there was still some water in it. If you can manage until you can get out and get another plug (in the absense of stealing one from something else) I would do. Sorry I can't be more positive but water & electricity put the fear of God into me.

:o Sorry - any ideas about the plug? I don't want to go bang, because it has been dipped in water, but I don't have a spare plug around (nor am I currently safe to do anything fiddly - frazzled).

    Many Thanks

Sybil, dont use it today , Just spoken to my OH, who said to tell you to undo the screw in the plug and take he front off, then put the whole thing into somewhere warm with the plug facing down, so the water can drip out ( the airing cupboard ?? ) for at least 48 hours if not longer, make sure its completly dry before plugging in xx

Sybil, I second what SunnyGirl has said. It's not worth messing about where electricity is concerned so I would bin the plug and get a new one. Moneysaving is one thing but for the price of a plug it's not worth taking any risks to save a few pence.

Me again I've just read yesterday's thread to catch up ;)

Ravy Lesley My Dad came home after his stroke 7 weeks ago and has made amazing progress. So amazing that they decided to take the caravan away for a week or so over Easter. Nothing too far away from home, just outside York. They arrived last Thursday and set up with no problems until later in the evening when Dad started to experience chest pain that was spreading into his throat and he was jerky apparently and couldn't keep a limb still. An ambulance was called and he was admitted into York City Hospital. He stayed there until Wednesday this week waiting to see a cardiac consultant in order to sign him off & transfer him over to our local hospital. He has been diagnosed with an electrical impulse problem and/or angina. The electrical thing can be fixed either with a pace maker or lasering the affected part now. I had to go to York yesterday to organise the bringing hime of them, the caravan & the car :D

Donnygal - My Dad and your OH must come from the same mould :rotfl: I think that Dad would have been much happier if the car had been towed and the van carefully placed on the back of the low loader ;) He spent almost the entire journey craning his neck to check that it was ok. I don't know why I'm surprised really he insists that the van is washed & polished before each journey and then washed again when they arrive :D Mum & I leave him to it :rotfl:

    Evening all

Hope you are all enjoying your Friday evening. Today has been manic, never stopped running around all day after I finished work. Bill paying, banking, shopping, cleaning etc. Think that after all that I deserve a large glass of wine. Just having cheese on toast for tea as too tired to bother with anything else!

SunnyGirl so glad to hear that you are all home safely, I bet it is such a relief for you.:D

    evening
I am really late today been all over the place again.

Had to go to the Jewellery Quarter to get 2 bracelets mended, I have been meaning to get them done for ages, but kept on forgetting to take them out with me, never mind they are done now.

I put the SC on with a beef stew in and it was lovely to come home and just dish it up.yummmm

Have treated myself to a Slow Cooker/Crockpot cookery book, from Amazon second hand and it does'nt look as though it's even been opened, it was a third of the price too including P/P £5:25, new price was £12:99, so I think I did well with that:D

Tried Stardrops on my sink today and it came up a treat so did the tops and doors....why did I never use it before

Off for a :coffee:and a read through now.

    Hi & welcome lekale.
