Morning All!
Raining here in Hastings too:o
Forgot to put the bin out last night, so Ive got to go to the tip today. Still got some garden rubbish I can take, and the old garage window that was rotten. OH made a new one last week out of the ofcuts fro the deck, made a good job of it too! :T
Did my first "Mystery Shoppng" yesterday. Had to go to a Travel agents and pretend to book a cruise, and then to Barclays to enquire about a current account. Really easy to do, took me just over an hour for both, and earned myself £20! :T Hope I get some more, anything to supplement my income at the moment, now I'm on half pay
JackieO- have a great holiday.
My birthday tomorrow, I reach the big five-Oh! Going out to dinner with friends. Kids coming round in the day. OH has bought me a Wii and Wii fit, but I'm not supposed to know, just guessed because of the size of the boxes, that and the fact that the kids have been putting me off buying one for weeks! :rotfl::rotfl:
Have a great day all!
I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning all,
Well it's not rainy here but fine & sunny. Well it's actually dark now but it was fine & sunny today.DGS left around 10am and I started on the walls until lunch. Then went out and mowed. Came inside and washed hair/shave legs/ etc as I'm out shopping with DD tomorrow.
Just waiting for DGS to arrive as he's sleeping tonight. XDIL is starting early tomorrow morning so it's less hassle for him. This morning he slept in until 8am. Bliss. His dad will pick him up sometime in the morning and relieve Poppa of babysitting duties.
Midsummer Murders on at 8.30pm so I'll be on my bed watching it with DH making loud sighs that he doesn't want it on and I will be ignoring.
JackieO Have a lovely holiday.
DD & D Sorry to hear your bad news. <hugs>
chrisca Good luck with your blood test.
Hope you all have a lovely day. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all......................(((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Its a dull, dank, depressing day here too, don't think its raining, but looks like it could at any minute.
This morning's job is to clean the sitting room window, swish the floor and dust, then after lunch I am off to see my quilting friend for a chat and a couple of cuppas.....think I might do omelette and salad when I get back, have some bacon that needs using up.
Thankfully OH was fins yesterday, so hopefully the start of another good spell, he is pottering just now, watering the seedlings and clearing the window cill so we can get at the frame to clean god knows how many layers of pain and gungle off.
See y'all later..............................................................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
JackieO - I hope you have a wonderful holiday, you deserve it!
Doelani - Welcome to the OS Daily. It is a very warm and friendly group. I am very sorry to hear of your mum's passing. It is a difficult time for sure so please be gentle on yourself.
Sybil - Sometimes children just get grumpy for no reason other than they can. I'm convinced of it! Perhaps the walk to get your prescription with help his mood and lift your depression a bit. If it doesn't help his mood, maybe some of those fruit tea cakes he loves will.Get yourself a treat too! It's hard work being a mum of a little one and I think you do a brilliant job of it! :T
Christa - Read your signature line hun. It's a good one. "Today, my BEST is good enough." It is you know.
OS Friends - I know I'm horribly out of touch with what all is going on with you. I do apologize.I'm managing to catch a bit here and there and that's it. So lots of ((((((((((((((GentleHugs))))))))))))))) for all along with good thoughts and prayers.
I am officially running around like a chicken with my head cut off. The current flat looks like a tornado tore through it. Progress is being made though, despite my doubts. We met the owner yesterday, who is from down south. A very nice man and we got the keys a day early!
Yikes the stuff the prior tenant left was everywhere, including broken down furniture. DH and I had a good clear out of most everything in there. There are some boxes of junk to be put in bin bags however that's no more than a 10 minute job and we'll do that tomorrow when we go to start the cleaning/painting. Knock wood, everything seems to be coming together very well.
I am behind on a few things such as choosing the colours of paint for the lounge and bedroom. I've warned DH that he shall sit down with me and make the decision this evening before I tell him where I hid the remote for the telly.:D
Old Style? Well let's see, de-cluttering? Cleaning the new place with stardrops and white vinegar should count, yes? Running around like a crazed woman with my 8 hairs left on my head after pulling the remainder out? For the next week that may be about it. :rotfl: I am heading to the laundrette this morning to do a load or two. So far the weather is holding so shall get them on the line to dry. There is certainly no where to set the airers up in here now.
I hope you all enjoy your day and weekend. I'll pop back in as time allows.
Hugs,
PeytonTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

Good morning,
salopman I have a 4 year old called George. If you're missing Joyce Grenfell you may come and listen through our letterbox any time :rotfl:
I didn't post yesterday as I didn't do any OS. I took the afternoon off, left ds with his dad and had a browse round the shops in Liverpool. I need to get out more. I also visited my friends chocolate shop (I know, how lucky am I to have a friend with a chocolate shop!). here it is. If you have the chance browse the cake gallery. I was sitting here last night (I saw her putting the start of one together and was curious), and wow!
Tonight we will be having home made pizza. A large one for dh and I, and ds usually makes his own with a bit of the pizza dough cut off. That's os too I reckon - teaching your children to cook.
WS, my ds can't take calpol, it makes him sick. The pharmacist says that it's probably the base mix rather than the paracetamol, but we tend to stick to baby nurofen which doesn't produce any bad effects thank goodness.
I'm off out with ds soon, while it isn't raining. Children are like puppies, if you don't keep them busy and exercised they wreck your house :rotfl:
Take care all of you.0 -
Morning,
Raining windy and cold here...Brrrrr!
Just been trying to send the money for our house deposit to the solicitor and the internet banking has 'suspended' my access:mad: Money is coming out our joint account but as it's such a large amount they need to confirm the identity of the main account holder. Fine except he is in the MIDDLE OF THE NORTH SEA:mad::mad: So now I have to wait until he calls me at 5pm so I can get him to call internet banking. I tried to explain to them but they were having none of it due to fraud/money laundering regs. Goodness you would think I was trying to bring them down or something! I knew everything was going too well:rolleyes:
Sorry to rant but sometimes you just feel like screaming!
So my OS today is bacon & egg for tea and some more packing. Not got much more to do on the OS today as all caught up.
Going to rugby tonight with the parents and I am meeting up with the girls tomorrow night for wine and pizza.
Have a good Friday everyone:j
Edit: Hilstep - Happy birthday for tomorrow!Spreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -
justpeyton4now - I guarantee that your home (either one) looks better than mine at the moment. I hope all goes well.
Cranky - thank you, I was wondering about the calpol. Little bear is normally not a tantrum child. Nothing to do with me, by the way, just the way he is. Also, I think he has worked out how much more he gets if he 'asks' nicely. Also thank you for the linky, which I shall forward to my brother who lives in Liverpool and can always find room for a little bit of chocolate.
Gathering up my courage to take LB out. I can see the building that the prescription is in from my window as I type. But I really want to take little bear perhaps on the bus after that, get rid of some of the ants in his pants. I will wait until this lot of washing is finished and get the next lot in and then I shall zoom into action - probably almost certainlyAnkh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0
