    I've been Money Tipped!
I've just taken little bear into town on the bus :j:j:j

After we picked up the prescription and he had charmed another lolly from the lady in the shop - who thinks he looks sad. He'll look up at her, all solemn eyes, and she falls for it! She should have seen him giggling earlier when we were having tickles on the changing mat.

And we went to see some stuffed animals in the museum. Personally I found them extremely unnerving but little bear was very animated and told me all sorts. I have absolutely no idea what, but he was very insistent. He seemed to think the tiger was absolutely marvellous. I kept expecting bits to fall off - the animals were stuffed in Victorian times. It shows.

He also had his first penguin biscuit which he savoured to the last crumb and finished on the bus back. I shall have to take him out more often as I managed to wipe his face clean with only token protests (I think he didn't want to make a scene in public ).

And evil cat shot out of the house when we got home. To run straight into the gentleman caller. The term hissy fit applies. She seems a bit stiff in the shoulder. I shall keep an eye on it but she sees the vet anyway (poor man) on Sunday.

Now, little bear is supposed to be going to sleep, although it sounds like he is dismantling scaffolding (no idea) and I am going to have to get some more washing in, some washing out, and generally try and attain housewifery.

Betheebee - A pheasant! I hope it is really tasty.

Lame Wolf - I am trying on those sandals tonight after little bear has gone to bed and I will not be giving an update :p Unless I do something silly like try and walk across the room in them, in which case I am likely to be on listing the injuries from my fall.

Hester - that lodger sounds absolutely lovely. Though I suppose you might have a different sort of problem with a rabbit.

    Hugs to all.

Shez, it's great to see you posting again.
beemuzed, glad to have you back too.
Chrisca, I'm glad you survived the tests. Sorry about your concrete block.
Cranky, how's your leg? I hope it's healing well.

I've done some weeding and tidying in the garden and made everyone french toast for lunch. Ive just dispatched the dh and the boys to the hairdreser for back to school / work haircuts and have some time to myself so I'm going to go for a nice relaxing bath. Haribo has taken the girls to the Mo Mowlam park. They go home tomorrow....the time has flown and I'll miss them so much. Yesterday was fun when we got together with our brother and his gorgeous children....we are very lucky that we all get on so well, but we don't make the time to see each other often enough. We really ought to put more effort in.

On that thoughtful note, I'm off for a soak. :D

Thanks Pink, my leg is still sore, but at least I can walk now, instead of hobbling. It's sore today after my shopping trip yesterday, and I'm much slower than usual (bad news when there's a 4 year old on the run). Luckily he answers to "STOP" as well as his own name :rotfl:

Beth I am pmsl at your latest food catching exploits. Very MSE!

Hester I always found I had to watch the back swing when feeding ducks with a labrador present. You swing the bread back, and hey presto! there is nothing to feed to the ducks, and a grinning happy face behind you. Ours once jumped in the lake in Hyde Park and was bobbing around with the ducks catching bread. I guess he couldn't read the "No Swimming" notice.

Hockey Duo - you're nearly there! Good luck (and why can't banks occasionally have a bit of common sense...)

Also, I've just dunked a plug from a light into a jug of water (don't ask). Will it be safe once it has dried out or should I replace it?

Little bear relentless. And vvvv tired. And he has dismantled the roof to his playpen that dear heart slaved over last night (you know, you attach one bit, then you attach bit two and bit one comes off then you attach bit one and bit two comes off then you attach bit two, then attach bit three and bit one comes off...).

    Tea instant thingies. :o

DH gave me a lift to the supermarket so I could get lots of potatoes, fruit and veg which we needed.

DDs happy as I made a huge pot of sweet potato soup which we have not had for ages.

DH happy as made him baked potato, green veg and foil wrapped salmon for tea.

Have a second load in the washing machine to try to keep up with laundry.

Checked local paper and our house has been advertised so fingers crossed.

Going on family picnic tomorrow so want to bake some home made rolls tonight to make things easier tomorrow morning. We had intended to visit elderly auntie but she is worried she catches DH's virus and ends up in hospital so putting that off for a couple of weeks.

Still need to find really pretty wrapping paper and a card for an 85th birthday-saw some in York market years ago but can't remember what days that stall is there.

Taking DD(20) back to uni on Sunday- will miss her, but she loves the course , has good friends and is happy there so don't want to dwell on it.

Hugs to everybody and see you later.

Hi All, read all but quite tired to reply to everyone. So wavey smiley to everyone (where do you get those fancy ones?) :hello:OH! Just found them!

Just making myself some of last nights onion rings as i only (lol) eat half a pack. Going to have them with caramelised onion stuff from a jar that mother gave me (m and s onion rngs with m and s oniony stuff :D )

Decided am having a very late dinner as and when i feel like it. Tonight i am attenmpting to replicate cheese and brocolli pasta n sauce . I have never made white sauce before. I was always kind of petrified to beh onest as you always hear people talking about lumps etc. People have put the fear in me IYKWIM. Also hve a similar fear of making pastry and meringues. Theyre just renowned things to go disasterously. Sorry, clumsy with words today and my wrist is really sore so i can;t type too good today.

I clean on fridays so am shattered after a day scrubbing (no jokes lol) . Just freecycled a BNIB under counter light, and a MASSIVE bag of clothes. SOme brand new, most hardly worn. The woman could barely fit it all in the binbag. Feels good to clear that little bit of space, karma is immediately beneffiting. Think am going to put more on this weekend . I need to get rid of more!

Ive had to wear a bandage on my wrist all week and they get so grubby so quickly. So this weekend am going to tie die a couple . I have a big gig to go to next week so if im wearing a bandy at least its a cool one! I have the kit for tiedying so no cost. Also have 3 white tops to do so am going to end up covered im sure. Ill see how they work out though, i love customising clothes and really need to get myself back into it as i used to spend hours doing it at nights. Therapeutic too.

This weekend am also going to use BM for dough and let it prove overnight in the fridge to cook tomorrow. First time for me, so am excited. Ive really got into brown, but i can almost taste the crusty white so have to try it first. It would be rude not to.

    Hugs to all.

:o Sorry - any ideas about the plug? I don't want to go bang, because it has been dipped in water, but I don't have a spare plug around (nor am I currently safe to do anything fiddly - frazzled).

    Many Thanks
