My friends travelled from KL to Stansted. They had to pay for inflight entertainment if they want.

Are you just trying to 'up' your post count? That has already been covered....quite early on.

It states on the airasia website and on the printed e-ticket that " We are strictly a point-to-point carrier and shall not be responsible to you for any connecting flights. We shall not be liable to you for your failure to meet any connecting flights."

We flew on airasia from Penang -KL last month to catch another airasia flight to Hong Kong. The airasia office in Penang advised us that 3 hours was recommended between arrival and departure at KL. Our Penang flight was delayed by 30 mins. and the Hong Kong flight by 45 mins. Other airasia flights we have taken were generally on time. It only took about 30 mins. between landing at kL and checking in - the gates are very close to the check-in area.

Note that aiarasia use the LCCT (low cost carrier terminal) at KL - almost all other airlines use the regular terminal (which I haven't used). The LCCT is not a great place to hang out in - take something to read etc.

Airasia have very tight turn round times, any problems can have severe knock on effects - delays and cancellations but they are a good airline and great value. No refund with cancelled flights though, only a seat on the next available flight or a seat on the same sector within 3 months.

We stayed at the tune in Penang - great value. There are also tune hotels in KL and at the LCCT. Prices seem highest over weekends and 1 night stays We paid an average of £4 a night last month.

I wouldn't advise a less than 2.5 hour gap between flights, it's very possible but just not worth the stress. Good travel insurance helps.

We didn't stay in HK, just transited for a B.A. flight back to the UK. We wanted to tour S.E. Asia starting with Vietnam and the B.A. flight to H.K., ferry to Macau then a Viva Macau flight to Saigon was the cheapest way at the time (Nov.) Viva Macau phoned us in the U.K.at 4 in the morning 5 days before we left to tell us of a change in departure time! V. good budget airline with an excellent seat pitch.

We stayed in the Hotel Sintra in Macau for about £40 a night, booked via an online agent. Hotels in H.K. are too expensive for my liking . Stayed in places like Chunking Mansions in Kowloon a few years back but they are sure not to everyones taste, tiny rooms in apartments. Fair value if you just want a bed and a v. compact bathroom. Have you tried Tripadvisor ?

You can save money on food by looking around for deals like free coffee with the big breakfast in Macdonalds . Good luck.
