I have been trying since 6 am, wasn't aware it actually started earlier!!!!
I still cannot get anything booked , been to checkout 4 times and site crashes, the same search each time brings up different prices too!
Just found this on MSE so please check your account!
Please read re: Travelodge! Urgent!
Urgent! - We've been trying all day to book rooms with travelodge, with no luck, as has my bil. He has just phoned and they have taken over £700 from his account, and that's without having any bookings confirmed by them , they kept saying booking not complete! It's all showing as 'pending' at the mo, so you'll need to check your available balance and maybe phone your bank rather than your statements though. They have also had £200 from our credit card, and £125 on our debit card where we have repeatedly tried to book, so PLEASE check your accounts ASAP!We seek a world in which everyone with HIV/AIDS can live an abundant lifeWant to join us?0 -

Also taken from MSE.
I booked a room a couple of days ago, when got the confirmation it had shown two bookings each with seperate numbers and taken a total of £91.50 from my account.
Phoned immediatly and was told that had to email their customer services and it would be sorted. Shall give a couple more days then hassle them some more.
So give Travelodge a ring asap.
If you paid with your credit card you should be covered by the bank so I wouldn't be too concerned, I just wanted to bring this to people's attention rather than them find out when their statement arrives.
Good luck.We seek a world in which everyone with HIV/AIDS can live an abundant lifeWant to join us?0 -

Some places have Family Rooms available for £9, others don't. Managed to bag Tunbridge Wells family room for £9. Only 30 miles from Ashford so perfect for when we return from Disneyland Paris this August. (Ashford Travelodge family room showed up as £55 for the same date.)0 -
Ibooked York central in October at 3pm.(less than 5 rooms left)...got it for£32....just checked again(i know i shouldnt) only £29 now.Why is that? Am thinking of a new one:beer:0

That is scary the amounts taken from some accounts, Im sure they will pay it back but not good.
All the central London ones were £19 for sale rates at 5.30am, did not see any £9.
Its weird how room rates alter so much with TL bookings, Ive found that a fair bit.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

Just checked my account - have had booking confirmation but they have not yet taken the £19 for my London booking?
Normally they take the cash straight away, will keep an eye on that!Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

From the website:
Can I amend a Saver or Sale rate booking?
You can amend your saver room subject to availability of the same room rate (and room type) at the same hotel. It is not possible to upgrade your room type or room rate. You can make the following modifications to a Saver / Sale rates booking using the Modify your booking option on the website. Amendments must be made in advance of the date of stay as follows: £29,39,49 and 59 rates 7 days in advance, £19 rates 21 days in advance. You can change the room type or date of arrival for a £5 booking amendment fee. You can increase the length of stay by purchasing additional nights for the same rate. You can reduce the length of stay but will not receive a refund for the nights no longer required. All amendments are subject to availability at the time of amendment
I stand corrected.
I didnt think any changes were allowed to saver rates. Cancellation is not allowed, but a change of date is subject to a £5 charge.
Dont know if this is a new t and c as I lost about £70 a few years ago because I put the wrong date in.0 -
Had a reply to my email about them reserving double what my reservations cost.
Thank you for your recent correspondence.
What we believe to have happened on this occasion is called "ring fencing". During the process of any transaction being made over the internet, the bank will remove the amount needed to pay for the products ordered from the supplier (in this case Travelodge) and move to a holding account. Once the transaction has been completed the monies will then be collected from the holding account by the supplier to pay for the transactions.
On this occasion, as the reservation(s) failed to complete successfully, the monies were never requested by Travelodge and therefore have remained in the holding account. Normally monies held in this account are returned back to the card debited within 5 days.
If there is anything further we can do to assist with this query then please do not hesitate to contact us.Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110
