Make sure you use the 32 bit AVG removal tool too as simply uninstalling will leave bits behind

  • Hi.
Thanks to gaming guy for the thumbs up on being able to use Defender as well as Avg.

With regard to the 32 bit removal tool, I did down load it and use it but thank you anyway aliEnRIK for your post as it may help others.
  • I have also ditched AVG and installed Avast. I went with Avast mainly because of the email protection that runs when you send and receive.

What's the recommendation for how often you should run Avast every day or once a week? As the s/w doesn't have the ability to schedule an actual run time.

Also what you be the recommendation for the type of scan: normal or thorough? Also the resident scanner sensitivity?

I must admit that I have found little difference (AVG v Avast) in the speed of the PC when the s/w is running, it's still quite slow, and having to wait for applications to open.

Its possible your infected with malware which neither do very well against. Or you have something running in the background or programs are conflicting (Did you use the AVG removal tool for example?)
