If the fishermen really wanted to punish the British for something, don't you think they'd have blocked the tunnel entrance too?

I don't agree with wildcat strike action, but I do think it's funny that it was so successful so quickly - French people aren't as stupid as they're made out to be. You'll note that neither the French media nor the fishermen themselves made any suggestion that it was in any way a protest against the British: we're just those hapless sods who unwittingly agreed to help fight their cause.
Now geography i was good at... and physics...
for that reason i know that the fisherman couldn't block the tunnel as boats only work in water... and not on land... unless they're on trailers... or had been inadvertently, and rather fortunately, had their boats blown to the tunnel entrance by a freak tornado (the tornado problems are a personnel favourite on the discovery channel at the moment. i must remember to mention them in more posts)
