Thanks Di.x
They are monitoring her for 48 hours not 24 got that wrong. Monitor came off yesterday. It will be reviewed no earlier than Tuesday. There has been no improvement though her Blood pressure is up and down and so is her heart rate. Cannot see that she will be coming back out really as even sitting up makes her weak.
Am not sure what will happen:(.
xx
Not a nice time for you all. I have been in 4 times with BP and had massive doses of BP meds (that gave me the worst headache I have ever had in my life) and also I had beta blockers for the tachycardia but I was a lot younger. Not sure how they would treat someone that already has a weak heart though?0 -

We should hear today as all the results will have been analysed. She has gone downhill really quickly. She has told us about other "little instances" she has had over the last two weeks and made excuses e.g. one happened while she was in choir practice and it was cause she was standing too long.
The problem she has is that it is not just her heart it is I believe the aortic valve. She has been under specialist last 10 years and they have been dithering about whether to operate. She saw her consultant about a month ago and he put a note on the bottom of her letter saying he thought it may be too late to work on the valve. They cannot replace the valve because it is badly scarred due to the radiotherapy she had for breast cancer about 30 years ago. They were going to try to clear the valve by sending a line up through her veins but it is badly calcified so the risks are strokes etc.
In all other aspects she is as fit as a fiddle, if you see what I mean and very active for somebody of her age. I think it is a bit mis leading because she does not look that ill but her readings are giving another picture. They have at last taken her BP standing, lying down and after activity and in both arms but it is up and down. Yesterdays reading was 72/63 with a pulse of 103.
Anyway hopefully they will be able to do something. When they admitted her to the ward she is in they asked if she wanted to be ressusitated(is that spelt right?) she thought for a while and said well if it is a minor episode yes if not no. We explained that they would not know at the time and would just go ahead. It made her laugh she thought they could assess it immediately on a scale of 1 to 10. DOH.:mad:0 -

Hi everyone
Hope all are well.
Max, hope things are improving as well.;)
My dad been very poorly the last few days, not eating and sleeping all of the time.
Its just been over a fortnight since the move to the EMI care home and yesterday at long last his meds were reviewed.
We have recently found out after waiting a while for the records, that when dad was in the unit they upped his meds and he ended up on more types as well.
Too many to list in names, but it worked out something like 17 just to take for night time dose, and in total all week 196......., this is without pain killing meds.
The GP yesterday have reduced his meds as dad been complaining of bad tummy aches, where he had not eaten, but a few things had to be checked first....
like the anersym in his stomach, constipation and things like that, but it seems to have come down to the meds.
Thank goodness the GP have reduced them.
However, he have also been taken off all meds he was taking for his heart.
He is to be monitored over the next week or so for his weight, BP etc.
Bless him he tries to have a laugh as well.
On a better note mum played Bingo with him at the CH last night and he won, he was beaming and he won a packet of Jelly babies and gave them to mum, bless lol.
He is trying.

Hi Di
Hope they get his meds sorted out. Some of these places do like to give a chemical cosh. Glad they are reducing them. That is the trouble with meds they can sometimes cause more problems than they cure.

Hiya Max, hope your well.
And thank you.;)
How is everything going now? Hope things are improving.
I agree with you, it makes me think if its the meds in the first place that have got dad in this position, he was already on enough before all that.
We hope to see some improvement in the next few days.
Lots of love

Hi
can anyone help me
I have just received a letter from the NatWest offering me "As a gesture of goodwill" a settlement figure of £5677.58. This was for miss sold PPI.
On the letter it states that in addition to the refund as your payment protection has been cancelled the outstanding balance of the element of your loan relating to the payment protection insurance premium will be paid off as though the policy never existed. This will result in the monthly loan reducing to £307.09 which is the amount that would have been due each month had i not taken the Payment protection policy. Please note this adjustment will only be made once the acceptance form is processed and will take into account any payments you have made at the increased amount.
Then further on it states lots of jargon about the financial ombudsmen then it states on receipt we will repay any arrears that may be O/S on your loan account and arrange for the balance to be paid to your current account.
What I am confused about is the settlement figure of my loan. I don’t want to accept anything yet as I do not wish to be ripped off anymore. If I settle will I get a full breakdown of what will be paid into the loan?????
I have just called the NatWest to get a settlement figure and they very sheepishly told me that it would be £2612.12. Now if I was to accept this offer of "Good will gesture" and my payments go down to £307.05 per month and my loan finishes in November then I work it out that I must pay 6 x £307.05 which would be £1842.30
I just don’t understand where they have got the figure of £2612.12 from as even if I was paying the same premium as before which was £375.ish it would not add up to that amount.
I asked them for a breakdown of what I would be paying and they could not give me one as apparently at the loans and lending centre they do not have this facility do this????? I asked where they calculated this and he told me Head office however I would have to write to my branch who would contact head office for me as apparently Head office don’t have an address. I felt that guy who I spoke to didn’t have any idea what he was talking about.
The top and bottom is I don’t want to sign and agree to an offer when I will be totally ripped off.
Can anyone please advise me of what to do at this time?
Thanks in advance
Very confused0
