Its just not on is it Mel?

    They certainly messed this up.

I know with what has been paid in is recorded on their systems, like an SAR you could actually request for information going back to a certain time, normally its as you know 6 years in England and in Wales, but as your O/H had the details changed into his name, it will only be the details they will send as from when he given the details. Thing is that is costing money just requesting for the info....the usual £10.
They do have something wrong here, maybe they will realise this when you contact them on Tuesday.
    I do hope so.

I think your MP should help you here though, then you can marry him lol :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Oh and these suppliers should also have a complaints dept, if they don't sort this out, wouldn't this be an issue the FOS can deal with ?
Who are the companies Mel again, cheers X

Just found out its an "Energy Ombudsman", just added a link below with details of complaints, hopefully these ombudman deal with these complaints quicker.

Some interesting info here Mel, are you in England?:
    http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/your_world/gas_and_electricity/gas_supply.htm

If the supplier does not resolve your case Mel there is an Energy Ombudsman you can complain to not the FOS like I said above lol. X

it is Scottish Power, we can't change it to anyone else because the landlord won't let us  there are a lot of things the landlord won't let us do (like have any pets  but again that is another story! - my cats live at my mums before you ask :p)

Would the FOS deal with this? (Just seen your other post - thanks for that btw) I'm afraid that I'm not too savvy about this, which is why we are in this mess. I'm just scared they are going to turn around and say that this is all our fault for not updating our details when we moved in - although we did tell them we had moved in, we didn't know we would need a new card. It was the same with the council tax, we told them we were living there but they just said "carry on as normal" until they got their act together. What if it hadn't been OH's mum that the rebate went to? what if it had been a complete stranger!

I just know the landlord is going to dig her heels in over this money, if she gets a rebate then she will do anything to not pay us back! adn if she doesn't get a rebate then what are we going to do?

I wish I was the type of person who just didn't care and didn't pay anything to anyone, they don't seem to get as much hassle as the people who pay everything on time!

Its very frustrating for you isn't it ?

Found this here in regards of Scottish Power
    http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/Home_Energy/Customer_Services/Making_a_complaint/

I would get your MP to contact them on your behalf, when we had problems in the past, our MP have been very good, even by writing letters on our behalf, they then receive the same feedback as you.

You just need to explain your whole situation to your MP, they should understand.;)

But I really can't see why they expect you to pay something you have already paid, so I hope you get it sorted on Tuesday.
