Lots of drink/driving campaigns going on at this time of year, and I think its a good thing as well.:T:T

Anyway, my hubby was stopped last week, and of course breathalised it was okay.

And my son coming back from footy training was stopped this evening, luckily he did not go out last night, and yep he was okay as well when breathalised.
Funny thing is I jumped the gun when he walked in with the tubing in his hand they give them after having this done, and I asked for what reason did they stop you?, cos I thought, no way would it be both hubby and son within a week of another, but he said again they said it was basically a campaign, but they also done a spot check with him as well, with the insurance check and so on, again he was okay lol :D
    I think and hope!!!!!

But I think its also a good lesson for them as well.

    Have some news......

Meeting for dad was today, he will NOT be coming home before xmas.

The care package is still not set up as it can take some time, they are now looking at 6th January, but asked mum to think about it.

Basically the staff involved in the meeting have stated that dad need 2 carers 4 times a day, and night care should be provided as well, so they are a little ify on that as they told mum she would have to fund out for night care, and the day care will be free, personally I do think he is worth a try at home with all this care provided, its worth a go at least.

Mum does not seem happy with the arrangement......., I know its down to her at the end of the day, but my gut feeling is telling me its not going to happen with him coming home, mum mentioned a nursing home for him.

Sorry I am a bit gutted and choked up at the moment folks, catch you later. XXXX

Sorry to hear that Di I know you did not want that to happen. Does your mum feel that she will be unable to cope even though she has the extra help. Sending big hugs.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Di, yes, it was today we went.

They have said that she will have to go back after going over my bloods etc (as I have been under hematology twice) and also they did not have any copies of her bloods at this hospital BUT they did a very thorough report and put my daughters (and mine:o) mind at rest telling her that they may try the infalting a BP cuff and seeing if she bleeds etc and getting her an appointment with hematology to get some different blood tests done but after christmas.

They did however find her cafe au lait spots on her body (she has a large one on her hip!) and got a light on them as she has developed quite a few. Nothing to worry about he said but asked that she removed her clothes so he could look her over completely. We have never mentioned these to the docs. Anyway in the end he said that they may come back with nothing at all as people can have these disorders with normal platelets but something slightly out on the platelets working properly and this can happen. He said he would call us back in a few weeks for some other tests and that is how we are left for now. Certainly was a thorough doctor and much better than our own hospital.

    Thanks for asking Di.:A

Hi Marshallka, I did get this right then lol.;)

Glad it went well, and done a thorough report, it will ease your mind now, they seem very good the ones she seen today. Good luck to you both on this.

These cafe au lait spots, are these like brownish blemishes?
Both me and Daniel have these here and there.
A good doctor then, that is fab news, pleased to hear it and that they are being completely thorough.:T:T

    Thanks for asking Di.:A

    Thanks Marshallka.;)

I am gutted to be honest and even though I said I would not build my hopes up - I did.

What really hurts is the fact that mum is already talking nursing homes, where the hospital did say dad would receive the full package at home which includes 2 carers working together 4 times a day, but mum does not like the fact of them being agency staff, and there is poor dad begging to come home to his family. It really does hurt.

The hospital said while dad still remembers his family, its a good thing, and trying him at home may be worth it, as they will not turn him away under this section act, if it did not work out.

Am trying to take it all in, finding it difficult at the moment. XXXXX

She is fine Di in herself;). Got a call from our docs yesterday to say to come in in jan for more bloods there just to check her anemia is doing OK. My sis is next though for her other procedure on the 4th. Not heard from her to two days though (TBH it was only when she has been poorly that I have heard for ages - she only lives around the corner:eek:) but will be seeing her within the next couple of days to exchange presents. Its such a shame its all like this:confused:. I do love both my sis and my mum and they both ring when they are ill and I am just glad that my sis came to me when she was ill cause she has loads of friends. I just want to be there when i can.;) I am happy with that. They both know I am quite good with illness. Just wish i could change the past but cannot sadly.
