Hello all hope you are all well. I desperatly need a chat tonight. Talk about it never rains it pours, but hubby not too well he was diagnosed with ME a while agon and went back to work but nw they are testing hubby for prostate cancer or leukemia:eek::eek: he has been back to work but cant cope he is too ill, some !!!!!!! up there does not want us to suceed does he so worried
Hi dialysis, I am so sorry to hear this. Just when you think all is going well,, something comes to give you a slap in the face.
On a brighter side, my brother in law (he's 63) had a biopsy for Prostrate cancer. They took about 5 swabs and he was really concerned. He has just had the results and they have come back negative, thankfully, probably just been an infection they say. ALso my neighbor who did have it about 3 years ago, is absolutely fine now. He's 72, in a rambling club and always away with them.
As for the leukemia my friends son had acute lympoblastic leukemia when he was 14. He is now 35 and all clear , and an Officer in the Royal Navy, also the father of two lovely children, which they said would never be possible because of all the chemo.
What I am trying to say is, don't despair , medical science has advanced so much.
Take care

Hello all, Thanks for kind wishes, no its not the priest, this brother is a school teacher, not sure but think it is AML Marshallka.
Luckily my brother is one of nine so had two matches in the family for the transplant and at this stage seems to be on the right track.
That is lucky pinknico, to have two matches. Hope all goes well. I'm one of eight children, it's nice having a big family, esp in times of stress
Being from a big family and remembering the hard times my mother had, think this is why, I am ,the way I am with my kids, just want them to have a good life. Not talking about loads of money here(though it would be nice):D but just to be comfortable, in good health and debt free, other than mortgage of course!!.(maybe a little bit less than they have now though)

Couldnt have put it better myself Busbyh, this year all presents will be brought with money we have and not on credit and we have paid off all the other credit we used in previous years.
We are very fortunate and can only do this because of the way the FSCS refunded.
Now we just have Picture and a Mortgage, not ideal but manageable and a great deal better than the position we were in!
Say it time and time again your daughter is a very lucky lady!DS1 12/10/04

As regards the leukemia too I hope that dialysis's hubby goes on OK. They should really do a marrow if he is showing symptoms of this. I really can sympathise as its often a slow progressing disease. I know of someone that has been fine with it for so long (chronic type) but just gets ill every now and again and has to take precautions) but she does not let it get her down and you would not know she even had it. Its all about catching things early enough now isn't it.
Its so sad when dialysis was on such a high to be bought back down. Life can be a total !!!!! sometimes.0 -
I hope everyone else and their families are well, not working too hard and not stressing over how close Xmas is getting. Hands up who thinks it should just come in a leap year?
Take care.
