  • Hi Di,

    How are you feeling today.

I was sorry to hear that you were not well.

No wonder you are poorly though with everything you have got going on.
I hope things get sorted for your dad soon.

It annoyed me yesterday when they were going on about making cuts in the NHS because of lack of funding and yet they found the money to give to the banks:mad:

    Hi di
Getting there thanks hun and you?:A;)

Still waiting unfortunately, it's now starting to get to us all I think with the local hospital situation, I have left a message on the SS phone today as well, and waiting for her to get back.
I am wondering though, this move to the local hospital is in regards of an assessment for a home care package, if they would do this from home?
This is another reason why I tried calling the SS as well.

My mum said she is willing to have dad home, just as long as they can provide emergency help when required, but still if the SS have their ways of dealing with things, perhaps its best to leave things as they are, its just that even though dad seems calm, he is now wondering and asking all the time why he is still there, and getting distressed....., its very upsetting, because we when leave, he follows and it then takes the staff some time to settle him back down again.

So your still none of the wiser from deloittes then Di??, its a vicious circle isn't it?
I do hope you have some positive news soon hunni. XXX;)

When you say emergency help I would think that would be the hospital that you mean? Surely you could call 999 in an emergency and get just the home help that most of the elderly round here have. They also have meals on wheels and help getting dressed etc. Would that be what you mean. I know a few of our neighbours (a lady across the road) had nurses in twice a day to help with getting up, getting dressed etc (her hubby had parkinsons and he was bed bound in their living room for years - unfortunately died a couple of years ago but she did have my hubby and other neighbours help sometimes if she needed someone quick) and then the rest was left to them (the nurses and herself) but if they needed emergency treatment then they called an ambulance.

Hi hun you know hun if your mum is happy to have your dad home and she can cope, providing you can get the help he and your mum need, its sounds like that might be the best route hun. It will be better fro your dad if he was in his own familiar surroundings, dont you think? if you havent done so it might be going down that route hun and seeing if they will do this from home instead. It will be more appropriate to do an assessment from home if thats where your dad is going to from the hospital. lus he will then be able to move from the hospital sooner. I hope you understand what I am saying:confused::D
