Hi Di Glad your dad is doing OK its is strange the illness your dad as I used to nurse people with demetia and alzeimers it is like they go back to childhood again it is rather nice at times nursing these patients and I really loved that part of the job. Hope he is ok when you go to see him Di and I am really glad you are happier now. Take care will catch up later Luv DI xxxxx

    Hi Di and thank you.:A
I used to work in a hospital for the mentally and phyically handicapped, and of course before that in a nursing home where many had dementia, I loved it too and a very rewarding job, I think though you don't believe it will happen to your own family.
I can imagine you being the lovely kind nursing type Di.:AXx

As I have an older brother with autism I am used to the caring side of things, he is 45 now, very severe, but so lovely, I know its not the same as dementia but still when care comes in its the same really isn't it?;)

I look forward to seeing him later, hopefully he is in a happy mood again.;), I shall let you know more later on, thank you hunni.

Hi Di cheers hun you have had it really tough with illness in your family and I really feel for you. I loved my nursing but due to my health I had to give it up, really miss it though. You are right about caring for someone with a menatal illness it doesnt matter what it is the caring is the same. It is easy to nurse and care for someone else but you dont expect it to happen to your own family and I suppose you then care in a different way. When I was nursing I always cared for the patients like I would like my family to be cared for I think that is very important. Hope you enjoy seeing your dad this aft and he is happy Luv Di xxxx

Hi to everyone one else hope all is well

    Hi Di.;)

Yes that's right I totally agree with you, in treating others as if they are your family, I loved it, and would possibly like to go back to it maybe again one day, when my youngest has settled into something he enjoys doing himself, he adores animals so I expect he will in the end do something like that, fingers crossed, then I can move on myself then.;)

I am looking forward to seeing dad, for the last few years mum have just done everything for him, but he will have a go for himself as well, we have to tell mum to let him try for himself, then if he is struggling then help, my mum been so soft with him and to see him do something for himself I think would do him good.
She went to put his slippers on him the other day and I told her to leave him do this himself, and he done it with no problems, it would be nice if he had some independence.

Yet he used to be so independent and so strong, and loved his gardening, that was his pride and joy.
Thanks Di, I will let you know how he is when we get back later on.:AXXXXXX
