Just did a quick calc..... my portfolio is up 18% in March (up 6.5% Feb, down 2.3% Jan).
Am starting to get nervous regarding such a significant rise in a single month. Having said that, 'things' look relatively ok for the time being (sic)

An easy way to go blind
This is well overdue, a share scrappage scheme
My march stock picks gained an average of 2.88% Unfortunately I chose to short RBS so that messed it up but luckily it was just a game -

Ftse gained 6.27% in March
I chose RSL (14%) ERE (7%) RDSB (5%) GKP ( 4%)
Will choose LCG for one of the April picks, any ideas for the rest..
RSL delisted from the FTSE 100 and gained 14% ? Go figure, sell on the (good) news dynamic in action there and vice versa0 -

* CEY - appears to have strongly broken to the upside
* MXP - It just has to come good in April (waiting on news)
* TMC - Whilst I wouldn't want to pump this one it does have the potential to rise

US$ broke a minor (previously violated) trendline and is still trying to hold 81.3 a failure here is very possible given the trading conditions, would expect the trendline at about 80.5 to hold in that case.
PM's did well today amid the weakness RGLD which I picked up last week was up over 6% today which seemed a bit excessive, but hey ho.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

cloud dog, have you looked at HVE? May well be a good trade when market re-opens next week after upbeat T/S yesterday. Been hammered down last year or so but co now talking market is recovering for them. Just a pure trade on short positions being covered for me, won't be a long term hold.
That KEA looks very interesting, looked overvalued at first but i've been watching the trades and there's been huge buys for days now. Again another trade for me over next couple of weeks as they are due to spud anyday and of course there'll be the usuall rumours etc of how they are doing re oil find. Currently 16.25p but can see 25p quite easily here the way it's going. Interesting comment from their major shareholder recently:
"The importance of the Company's share in the KEA programme should not be understated,as KEA with a strong New Zealand management team and a strong potential funding could develop into a major New Zealand oil and gas company"
This last few weeks has been like mini dotcom days for some stocks but you just have to take advantage of times like this, they'll not be here all of the time as we all know.0 -
another `holiday` done and dusted. We had to tour in the car because of the weather even though we took our bikes so now we have decided that we will probably move to Dorset to be nearer family. Portfolio is ok, chuntering along but what is a bit scary is that there are hardly any owners selling their houses. The big builders, yes but not joe bloggs. Sentiment amongst the public is still very poor and the `recovery` feels immensely fragile
So I want a new house and can pay cash before I sell this one, well I will have to cash in all our oap savings but it is less stress than a chain. I wish the sellers would come out of the woodwork and give us all a boost0 -
that KEA now looks very interesting! Been tipped in this weekend's RHPS, going to be a big blue day on tuesday with KEA and HVE. Happy days these at the mo, fill ya boots whilst you can.0

bobbyj, thanks for the tips but by the time I looked HVE was already up about 38% so gave it a miss. Not to say it wount continue to climb but its not really 'my thing'.
KEA could be interesting although new to the market, and I will investigate further. ATM the majority of my oil money is in MXP.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True
