My focus is very much resource biased but....
Whilst I think (from my perspective) stocks (and commodities) may take a short breather nowish, I think they will then continue rising until..... they drop. Its at this point that I will be looking to take some money off the table.
But, as always, its a wait and see.
At least if you want to cash some in now it will get rid of some of those capital gains.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

For me this is one of the big pluses of an ISA, I save a load of time each year by not having to work out if I owe the tax man any extra income or CGT.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

Ivader there really isnt any safe place. If you sell 60% of your equities then I presume you have invested in sterling currency and this has risk whether we like it or not.
Keep looking for something you like with good long term prospects. Its better to own then be owed
Check your wallet for a banknote, read what it says on it then decide where you'd like to be0 -

It should be safe enough for now, It's in a fixed interest fund that has never seen a loss YoY. The main thing is to get passed the general election. At some point this year we will see a 10% or more correction and I'll buy again.0 -
Nope, they're mostly in my / my OH ISA.

But if the market takes a fall from its heady heights you could actually gain as well, then again?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Miners taking a beating, that HOC dropped 7% off recent high, good trading share but careful holding these they could fall back quickly.Multibagging days over(unless they collapse)better to trade the ups/downs could make 20% a week
Never thought of diversifying, cloud, all eggs in 1 basket?0 -

Having said that I expect this to be short term and am unlikely to reduce my exposure due to this 'breather'. I am likely to take the opposite view and complete my investments to be fully invested.

I like resource based stocks, they are easy to understand where they are in their life cycle, what their value could (should) be, how they compare to their peers, what the price action is of their chosen resource, etc, etc.
I used to hold diverse investments but over the years have settled on this. It works for me but is high risk.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True
