Good for you Bookie.............although I am slightly worried that you have tied him up in the vicinity of said water tank until he has finished the job:eek::rotfl:

I did threaten to lock him in! He was very nice and said it must be his lucky day.
Is now muttering about a non-return valve on the shower - -r absence of 1! Eek - I hope it's not a shower prob after all this fuss.

I'm too young to remember it, don't remember hearing about it year to year though.

    I remember it.

we always used to watch Grandstand at my Grandad's. I remember Des Lyham and watching the crowd. not really getting it at first and then saying to Mum, oh God people are dying and her telling me not to be silly I was really upset. I distinctly remember thinking its a foot ball match why can't they just move, all the space on the pitch.Poor people. wanted to go home to my Dad.

and then we did go home and it was all over the news. Dad didn't want me to watch it. God I do miss my Dad.

phew. don't where all that come from.

OMG, I can beat all of your childhood horror food. My grandmother used to pressure cook everything and I mean everything for at least 30 minutes. She would shove meat pies in it, cabbage that turned grey and became like a paste.. liver.. omg the liver. I remember trying to flush it down the loo once, the bloody thing just floated, wouldn't flush, after half a dozen flushes I threw it out of the window. Her stupid yappy dog was in the garden and fetched it back in.

I watched it too, I was 19 so remember it all well. Actually, thinking about it I've seen a fair few disasters in my lifetime.

When I worked in a Theatre we had an emergency services training day where they discussed disaster procedures. I had to show a film which had live footage of the emergency services first on the scene at Hillsborough, Lockabie, the Kings Cross fire but the worst one was Dunblane. Those images will go with me to the grave :(
