First of June tomorrow, startagain - don't forget now.

Annual report finished, thank God. My, but it was hard work, mainly because I was trying to do it after working days elsewhere. I'm in my office this morning, shop girl this afternoon to cover for one of the domestic goddesses and, you never know, an early evening at home. Tomorrow I'm working in someone else's office - don't know for how long yet.

Moneywise, I have some invoices to send out - might do that in the hour I have before shop cover. I got a letter this morning from a lender that I have a loan with secured on my property saying that as I hadn't sent them a copy of my insurance they were going to add me to their block cover and that would cost £225, thank you very much. I am mad, mad, hopping mad. I got new insurance in January, the insurance company tried faxing it to the two fax numbers the mortgage company gave me, but it was rejected, so they emailed it to them. The mortgage company's letter started by saying something along the lines of "as you haven't responded to previous correspondence" - there has been no previous correspondence (well, not since January). The insurance company is emailing it again now. This has happened in the past, and the mortgage company has charged me something like £50 admin charge for taking me off the block insurance again. I phoned and told them I had no intention of paying the insurance or their charge and I was cancelling my direct debit until I had confirmation in writing that they would not be charging me. (I'll pay the normal monthly repayment amount, obviously, but by EFT.) Gosh, this is not doing my blood pressure any good, on top of stress from work and too little sleep. Grrrrrrrr.

I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.

I've just phoned the mortgage company and they have confirmed they have received the policy (at 10:53, should I need to refer to that again!) and they will take me off the block policy and won't charge me any premium and won't make any admin charges. Hurrrumph.

And while I was in a grrrrrr and moany mood, I phoned my bank, who about four weeks ago said they would pay me £10 compensation for a complaint I had made (it wasn't a complaint really, but I was happy to accept the £10) but it's never been put into my account. They have requested it again and so hopefully in a day or two I will see it on my statement.

Now I must make sure I don't rip any customers' heads off.

I have had too much tea this morning already, SW. I keep needing to visit the loo, so I'd better lay off the fluids for a bit. I think I might have a banana sandwich though.

    Afternoon all

Had an interesting morning, firstly I had a meeting to talk about venue usage for my events it seemed to be promising. I then went to Waterstones looking for a business book but there are none in stock anywhere in the UK (I shall contact the author who has already agreed to send one if I cannot get hold of a copy). Picked up a free taster book outside Waterstones and instead of getting the book I wanted bought another one with my vouchers and picked up another book too because it was an absolute bargain (the full version of the taster). Then I hit my favourite dept in Selfridges and as luck would have it they had 25% off everything - so I came out with 2 cardigans and 2 tops...these will mix and match with clothes I have now both posh and cheapo Primark ones.:D

Had a strange call this afternoon from someone with whom I last spoke to in 2008 way before I set up the business (I was still on the dole then so the test trading doesnt count)...upshot, I am meeting her on Friday...so will be a bit late into work.

One load of washing is on the line, blogs need to be written along with a leaflet to be prepared that I am going to hand out at an early networking event on Thursday (jeepers, I shall have to get up at 5am - registration opens at 6.45am:eek:).

I've been looking for your new diary, SA ...

Brian's birthday today! He started off in great excitement, leaping on to the bed and on to my full bladder at some unearthly hour - that got my attention all right. Then he managed to unhook the bathroom window to let himself out - I have no idea how, he's never done it before; it must be some kind of coming-of-age thing. That meant he wasn't in for breakfast; he never misses his breakfast - any of them, anywhere. Still, didn't take him long to reappear. His mother celebrated his birthday by beating him up - normally I leave them to it, but this time I felt I needed to intervene when she put a paw either side of his head and dragged him over the floor. The tart celebrated his birthday by trying to nick his breakfast. I haven't celebrated his birthday at all - he still owes me €130.

I got home about 8.15 yesterday evening. Went for a walk with the hound, then home to cook a plate of veg with rich onion and mushroom gravy, a glass of chilled white, a new book to start while sitting on the sofa with two moggies (who weren't sitting very close together) and a mutt, and complete silence in the house. Call me unadventurous - and a lot of people do - but quite frankly this is a perfect way to spend an evening for me.

I didn't get round to doing my invoices yesterday, so I will do them today. Working in my client's office got cancelled, so I am in my own, but doing work for him - well, not right now, but soon.
