  • Rang up tonight, asked for my mac code, told them was moving to O2, they knocked my broadband down to £9 per month and also knocked £2 a month off my line rental, plus they are sending me a new black home hub ;)

I am in a similar position, I have BT Broadband, Mobile and TV as well as landline. Looking on the BT website there are great offers for new customers; discounts new hubs etc. but nothing for exisitng out out off contract customers. There is even a mobile dongle for £9.99 for new accounts whereas for me its about £120......where is the loyalty.
I have had Sky come to the door with better offers.

you should call the customer options team at BT. Being out of contract means you can get a free dongle a free hub and also a discount on your broadband. just call and ask. 0800800030 is the number to call. just say you are lookin for a better offer or you will switch to another company and see what you get offered.

I just wanted to say how faaaaabulous that the reps are on here trying to help people who have queries re BT!

For someone like myself who is a little hard of hearing it is a blooming nightmare phoning up to speak to someone, so I just think it's brilliant to be able to speak to BT this way ...

And yes, I am with BT ... just renewed and am delighted with my stable connection. I get 6 meg from a possible 8 meg but I know there are lots of factors that could stop you getting the maximum, so that's quite acceptable for me.

I have had NO trouble whatsoever with BT since coming over from Orange/Freeserve/Wanadoo and I'm staying put!

I am not treated like an idiot when I do phone them either. Some customer service people on Orange (well, most of them really) used to talk down to me and talk to me as though I knew nothing at all ... condescending was just not the word for em ... the people I have spoken to at BT have been friendly and have really looked after me and that is worth SO much in today's society where a lot of businesses don't seem to give a damn about their customers!

Keep up the good work BT!

I renewed recently. Was going to leave but the nice lady convinced me to take up the offer of 18 months with the first six months free of charge.
The six months was up last month and I got an email from BT saying that if I renewed my contract for a further 12 months (from the end of the six months) they would knock another £2 a month off of the monthly cost. I took them up on the offer.
Did I miss a trick there or what? It was only afterwards that it appeared that they were asking me to renew, despite me having signed up for a new 18 month contract six months beforehand.
The wording of the email seems to suggest that I may have been out of contract?
