I am the official company representative of BT. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

I've just upgraded to wireless via BT Homehub & it's next to useless - after sopending an hour on the phone last night to thier helpline they admitted they didn't have a clue what was wrong. Have emailed them today giving them 7 days to sort or I will cancel broadband & landline.

Really fed up with them - always had great service from these but not happy at the minute - hopefully they can resolve it soon.

I'm starting to feel that some of the posts are getting borderline regarding the touting for business.

If someone asks in a public forum 'whats the best deal you can get' (exact words), that is not asking (over priced) BT, it is a general query.

I am also a believer that if you ask in a public forum you should be answered in a public forum rather than secretive (unmonitored unless reported - and who will report it if it is offering a deal) PM's being sent around.

I'm certainly not going to report the "BT company representative" user on here (as in other threads they genuinely do help) but there are a lot of people who might.

    Just my thoughts :)

I quite like the idea of a company representative... is there an AOL one?

    I agree entirely
I think it's OK for reps to send pm to assist in a specific problem a person may be having with the company but I'm afraid I don't want to send my personal details to a rep when I simply requested a contact phone number. I also would have also been interested to see what deals other people had been offered, as for example posted by Simbak2k - as I suspect other people may also have liked to see on public forum

    Hi Ellielou,

Could you give me a bit more information about the problems you are having, It sounds like you are trying to set up wireless, but if you could describe what seems to be going wrong or what problems you are having I can take a look into it.

Just a brief note on the other topic that has came up here. I thought I would explain why we are sending PM's The reason we've decided to interact on forums like moneysavingexpert is to try to help and we've sorted out a number of issues for people since we started doing this. We take discussion onto PMs to discuss specific private account details in order to sort out problems, its obviously not a good idea to post any of your personal contact details publicly and if you were complaining through any other method you would want us to take care that your private information remained private. Aside of that, we'll try to keep everything in the public domain. I hope this clears things up as we are trying to work as publicly as possible.

    Cheers,

The BT company rep's do an awful lot of good on this forum, so please don't knock them. See my thread of a week ago "Grateful thanks to BT company rep". Without the help and assistance I received I wouldn't be looking forward to returning to BT tomorrow as my provider, having had a c--p year of "service" from Pipex.
  • Hi Craig, BT company representative

I am out of contract with my BT broadband - I have BT Vision, Had spent around the £45 mark per month all in for Phone,TV and Broadband and I keep getting canvassed by Sky and Virgin with some very attractive deals.
Whilst I have enjoyed BT vision I can't help thinking that I am missing out on these great deals and I am very tempted to switch although BT have been excellent and I got my fingers burned with Bulldog before so I don't want to make that mistake again. What sort of incentives/offers would BT offer me to sign up for another 12/18 months?

    Many thanks James.

I am a o2 mobile customer so am i better off signing up with them?

I am in a similar position, I have BT Broadband, Mobile and TV as well as landline. Looking on the BT website there are great offers for new customers; discounts new hubs etc. but nothing for exisitng out out off contract customers. There is even a mobile dongle for £9.99 for new accounts whereas for me its about £120......where is the loyalty.
I have had Sky come to the door with better offers.
