    It won't work. I know cuz I've tried!:p

Do you mean that you didn't get the free extras or it wouldn't work at all in the States??

Just came across this offer on the MSE weekly update and, despite having no affection for coffee or Starbucks whatsoever, my girlfriend goes three/four times a week "with the girls" for a - excuse my lack of culture here - iced frappe? It's some strawberry flavoured cream drink without coffee in it.

Anyway, I'm assuming if I were to buy her this card as a little treat, she'd get the free beverage and could claim it against one of this drinks? Also, is the card worth it for someone who only drinks these - what extras can she put on them?

Cheekily, can I top up the card with an amount which is a multiple of the cost of one drink, say £7.90, so that no money is wasted on the card?

    Hi Astraeus.

I'd say you're talking about a 'Strawberries & Crème Frappuccino' - a lovely drink if I don't say so myself!

While alot of the free extras are targeted at coffees, you could get free whipped cream with a frappuccino, still a small bonus! So, you could buy the card, register it and get the free drink, and then get free whipped cream on each drink you buy.

You can load it with whatever you like, I load in multiples of £2.60, as that's why my fave drink costs!

    Hope this helps! :)

Just a quick word of warning - the discounts will only be applied if you already have a balance on your card.

If you are topping up your account, and paying for the drink in the same transaction (i.e. I'll have a soy caramel latte please and can I top up my card with £10) then you WILL NOT receive the discount on your drink.

This happened to me this morning, and I was advised by the staff that the discount only applied if you loaded your card first, and then paid for your drink. (i.e. I'll top up my card with £10 please, and now can I use that money to buy my soy caramel latte please).

So, you need to top up your card FIRST and then use the funds on the card to purchase your drink.

I'm a regular at my shop, so it didn't really bother me, and the lovely guy there gave me my 30p back anyway....but for those of you who are new to the Starbucks card, make sure you have funds on your card before ordering your extravangant 'soy, caramel, whipped cream frappachino' otherwise you'll be paying for all your extras!

    Hope this helps someone! :)
thanks smiley you certainly have helped me I`ll be in there tomorrow

Don't you get whipped cream included with a frappucchino anyway??

I noticed it says combinations of extras are acceptable. Can you combine the same extra?

Eg. have a triple expresso (2 extra shots) for the price of a single shot expresso?

Or for caffeine junkies a "quad" expresso!?
What shall I put here?

My OH only ever buys lattes.... albeit he has the bucket sized ones. Would this be worth getting for him. It drives me mad the amount he spends in there and money back would somehow lessen the blow for me!!

Just bought a single expresso + 3 extra shots (AKA a quad) and paid for a single expresso. In other words, you can have as many extra shots as will fit in the cup!

So, I've kind of just answered my own question ;)
What shall I put here?
