I can't believe some of your comments towards people asking for advice.. presuming EVERYONE who needs help concerning a medical with atos are trying to get a benefit that they are not entitled to.
Why don't you tell us who you work for and what your honest opinion is on people who are on benefits?
Blabby2 is correct about these people who post on here I've read their other posts they're nothing but bullys, ganging up against people who need genuine advice because really they don't understand anything about medical issues and begrudge people who have to claim because they have physical or mental problems.
I believe they have nothing better to do other than to sit on the holier than thou pedistall and preach their views to anyone who'll listen.
Until you have been in the type of situation described by many on here you can't possibly understand what people have to endure, mentally or physically going through these medicals or trying to get better to get back into work... in my opinion you never have because you would be alot more understanding of others issues if you had been!!
I wouldn't be surprised if u worked for one of these organisations!!! It sounds like you're cheering everytime someone passes their medical to say they're fit to work... If they were ready for work do u not think they would come of the benefit themselves rather than having to prove they have a disability... let alone to someone who is not qualified in the area of your disability... someone who can overide your own consultant/doctor/therepist/ETC.
One day something will happen to someone u know and they'll have to claim these benefits, then you will see first hand what is expected of them and how many hoops they have to jump through before they get turned away for a benefit they're entitled to, only then will you understand the mental exhaustion and financial impact on these people.
Blabby2 is not correct, the people who post advice on here are not bullies, they answer the questions and give advice. Sometimes this is not the advice the OP wants to hear and the OP will become aggressive and abusive. Then when people who have given advice stand up for themselves and others they are called bullies!0 -
Its an exaggeration but there is a hell of a lot of claimants who claim with those illnesses. The amount of young, depressed, anxious people is really quite staggering.
It was quite common around my neck of the woods for young girls/women to claim IB once they had a child for severe PND. They then went on and had another 2or 3 kids on top. PND my foot, good job they saw through that one and many got booted off the benefits and had to go back to work!
They were still receiving IB when the kids were starting junior school :rolleyes:Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0 -
please see martins sticky on the main part of the subject
Its about helping people get their entitlement! Not about benefits policy!
This board is here for help and support for those on or looking to claim benefits, not for judgement.
Of course we all know the benefits system is a mess
Whatever you're political persuasion, we're all aware the benefits system is a mess. Whether its the malpayments of tax credits on one hand, benefit fraud on the other hand, or simply the fact that sometimes it doesn't pay to work - everyone has their grumble.
This board is here to help people with their money though..
Yet that isn't what this board is for. It's here to help people find out what they are entitled to under the current system, and to help them get it. Benefits do provide a lifeline for many, and this site is here to help people with their money, and not to judge. Of course, how to illegally defraud the benefits system shouldn't be discussed here, but ensuring you're getting your entitlement is exactly what its about.
Want to discuss the benefits system? Go to the discussion board
If you want to discuss the benefits system itself and issues around it, the appropriate place isn't here but the Discussion Board and even there, please remember courtesy and not to make it personal about anyone. This site's prime purpose it to help people with their money and I will always act to protect that.
Thanks for your co-operation

Surely it's not unrealistic to expect people to offer advice on getting well. Mental well being is much more important than having free dosh put into the bank account.Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0

Your not helping anyone by running people down with mental health
Have you every thought maybe they dont want to be stuck in the house, taking pills and want a "normal" life? Surely they dont need the hassle of worrying about how to pay the rent, food etc aswell as their illness as this wont help them recover but cause more distressWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

This seems to a pet hate of WML as there have been a number of unhelpful posts especially recently, I have pointed this out but it is probably best to ignore them.0 -

I live in a pit village and maggie had ex-miners put onto IVB instead of the dole and there children have followed in many areas and what WML states is true, deppression is the new bad back.
I have had deppression on and off for 20 years, before you all say I dont have a clue.0
