Good luck with this Emweaver .... fingers crossed.

THANKS kazz ... really appreciate your message! I'm not sure I'm ready to run with another set of forms - I have had DLA in past. However, will keep this under review.
    Best Wishes!

Jame- do thik about it- if your prognosis is poor ( which I hope it isn;'t) your GP only has to tick the front of the form and list your cancer and treatment and the award is automatic for hrc - worth about £60 + per week

Kazzah, if your talking about 'Special Rules' then a DS1500 can be used to make the award more or less immediate, not that that is much consolation.

Ive managed to get a home visit. Apparently they go through to check my answers against my IB50 form. Do they bring this with them or is it all on a laptop for them to check against as I speak?

I agree it is a Battle to get the appropriate disability benefits due to this and more likely the next Tory government using the media to portray genuine disability welfare claimants as scroungers Goebbels(nazi party propagandist) couldn't do it better!!! The main aim of this government with these draconian measure is to knock as many as possible off disability benefits .
However i also agree that it is a good idea to work the system to your benefit pardon the pun

Perhaps the attitude expressed in your second point is the reason that the application procedure has to be rigorous?

I would much rather people used their energies to fight the disease than were distracted by difficulties in claiming money that is rightfully theirs.

So would I, but you can only decide if the benefits are "rightfully theirs" by examining the situation at regular intervals.
