This is getting off topic .... my postings always do :rotfl:
The solution is a USB hub...stick it on the desk

Done that . Had the 'full' tower, 3 or 4 hard drives, couple of cd/dvd drives
linked up to video players/ sound systems , couple of monitors /lazer and BJ
enough wiring to fill the Albert hall . Wot a mess .
Now try to keep it simple, less crashes but perhaps less fun.

I brought a 7 port USB hub from a charity shop the other day for £2 :D but it glows bright blue so it's gone behind the desk where I cant see it... distracts me :p

It's a nice thought a TB drive, but I'd never fill the damn thing :p

I'm planning on having 2 partitions on a 250GB drive. One for Vista and the other for My documents or I could buy 2 smaller drives but it's more expensive... Hmm

I'm still looking at the E2200 and E5200 as possible options

And thanks you guys for explaining the differences between the P43 Chipset and the P45 Chipset :)

I came in just over budget, but I think it's worth it and I'm sure I can find some of the parts a bit cheeper. What do you think about the graphics card and the HDD? If I had the money I would have brought 8GB ram :)

Would it affect the Bus Speed with the RAM being 800MHz?

    ok..while we're still just looking..
the Antec 300 comes with 2 case fans...you're buying another 2...any particular reason for that?
    the 300 doesn't have a window...so why pay £7 for a coloured SATA cable?
The PSU has molex connectors...the motherboard has fan connectors...fans daisy chain..unless you're making a hovercrafy you don't need the splitter thing!
Only saving you £20...but you could spend that on a bigger drive...500Gb+ is about right nowadays..or a better GPU

Strictly speaking, and I'm sure the people on here in the know would agree with me strongly. If you are building a high spec machine (from scratch,) you need to be spending the majority of money on your MoBo and PSU.

Any advise contrary, I personally would ignore, but hey it's your money.

Think very carefully about it,,, everything else is upgradable, CPU, Memory, Graphics card, Drives....

Spend as much as you can on your MoBo and PSU, leaving enough of your budget for the other components you need. Once you have your killer MoBo and CPU, you can upgrade the rest over time.

Read alot of reviews on different MoBo's and PSU's before you buy. You might think your getting a great peice of kit, but the forums may be saying something else.

And if you do nothing else I suggest in this post, make sure you spend the best part of your budget on a MoBo and PSU........

I have built alot of systems from scratch.;)

Split your order between different online store to bring you under budget, for example ebuyer offer free postage on orders over £50 and the cpu is £14 cheaper

also consensus is that there is no benefit in going for the 64bit version of vista so you couple get 32bit and save £10, maybe a bad time to get Vista as it's expect Windows 7 will be out by the end of the year which everyone is raving about

Gigabyte include 2 sata cables with the motherboard so you can knock of £6

Do you need the two blue fans, reading the review of the case it already has 2 fans which will be ok and cut £14 from your total. I think the only benefit you'll get is a noisier pc from the extra fan noise.
