If your exchange is LLU you can get o2 Basic for £7.34 a month. £70 Quidco cashback, free wireless router, free 24/7 tech support, free McAfee security.
You need to top up your PAYG mobile by £10 within each quarter to qualify for the discount. I find the service good though some say that o2 have taken on too many new customers and the service is stretched in places with speeds dropping.
It's strange though, I checked on samknows and it says that O2 has enabled LLU presence on my exchage in Aug 2008. Went to O2 website to sign up and it says there that O2 BB is not available in my area!If you will the end, you must will the means.0 -
Check on the Be website to see what their availability checker says. Then phone 'em up. One of the websites obviously has incorrect data. Hopefully it's O2's and not SamKnows's.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

On both O2 and BE sites, when I put my postcode in the checker it says yes the service is available. But when I put my phone number in, it says I'm too far away from the exchange....

Postcode checker is a general positional guide. Phone no. is more accurate but it's still based on a straight line distance from the exchange which may not be the same in reality.
Best bet is to ring them up and ask.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks macman I'll do that. I'd me surprised if I can't get it, I live in a cabled street, in a large town only about 3/4 mile from the exchange - and its a major one.
And before you say it - no I do not want to go back to virgin media!
