Hmm interesting, I know that you do like the teaching BB but I wonder with all the prep time just whether AQA is actually more per hour?

Glad that you had some time for yourself, you do need that once in a while.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

depends on the day/time of day/events of the world Lou as to whether AQA is busy or not. Friday nights and then Saturday afternoon/Saturday night/Sunday afternoon (possibly Sunday night) are the busy times of the week. Some afternoons just don't have questions coming in so the rate per hour is abysmal (less than minimum wage). Swings and roundabouts really. I'm hoping that now I've got a few courses under my belt, the prep. time will be a lot less from September. I've picked up a course today for November I've already taught so just re-read and do more handouts - and that originally took me hours as it's a 6 hour course (1 session).

decision time. My car gets fixed tomorrow to get it through its MOT. Do I

    a) move even more of my savings to my current account ?
    b) pay for it on a CC and clear it with the statement

When I get the interest at the end of the month (approx £350 I think), it will go back into my main current account and I will be able to see how bad the damage is for the month from plundering my savings. With my car tax also going to be due, it is a desparately awful month this month :(

I guess if I'm going to replace the car money with some of the interest it doesn't matter which way I pay but taking more from my savings is so instant and hurts :(

How often do u get the interest?
At least you are not reducing your capital if you use the interest.

the interest on my bond is annual and is going to be earmarked for repaying the car repairs and then for the car tax. That capital will stay untouched.

The money I'm moving is from another account linked to my current account and the interest again is annual but it just feels like a freewheeling money pot this month - just when I thought I'd stemmed the flow.

Had to go to a meeting today at work and we were told we were moving to a different office in the building (I'm in one office, 3 others in another). I'm not impressed as the one we are all moving to is noisy and has some quite highly strung people already in there and I am not looking forward to it already, there's every chance I'll be desk sharing from working out who is moving out and who is moving in . The way it was handled wasn't good and it broke the spell on the place for me, so I'm feeling quite glum.

Definitely given me the impetus to look harder for a full time job.
