I think they will want someone with a more heavyweight data/information type background than me. Local authorities love reports and data and statistics and monitoring and benchmarking - they thrive on it  I'm not sure the balance was in my favour of nicely fluffy community/partnership/publicity type stuff versus very factual data, statistics, analysis, grinding down of numbers etc. That is just not me at all.

But hey - I got a free lunch out of it - well, a couple of sarnies and some crisps :D

BB I am monumentally proud of you. A year ago you would never have even applied for the job never mind put yourself through a day of interview like that. So massive congratulations regardless of the outcome. I think today should be declared as the day you won the war against cruella, you are over it, whether you think so or not. She is powerless now and you can take pride in the fact that you have picked yourself up and dusted yourself off ready to move on to bigger and brighter things. She will always be stuck with being a total Biitch.

It sounds a bloody nightmare though, I glazed over at task one :) and you never know, strange things do happen, and you might be in with a shot.

Sounds ok to me too - even if it's not a goer, as Sammy points out, it's great practice, and an assessment centre is hopefully no longer a scary thing. :D

:T Whatever happens, sounds as though you've had a positive day. Glad the presentation went so well - you sounded really confident beforehand and it's great to see you carry that through to the day. :T

ooohh, thankyou Toto - I think I might cry :o (but not in a bad way!! :rotfl:)

To be honest, it was all very laid back. We sat around a table and did the tests. The opq was done on a hand held - I had a knackered one with a dodgy top right hand corner and had to stab one part of the screen really hard much to the amusement of the HR manager :rotfl:He knew me last time I was with the organisation so it was all very lighthearted. He said he would look out for my results saying 'be wary if she has a pointy stick' :rotfl:

I did one of the online OPQ tests from the same company and the report said I was 'strong' in

Creating and Conceptualising (very strong in this - no surprises there!)
    Enterprising and Performing
    Adapting and Coping
    Organising and Executing

    Middle of the road for

Analysing and Interpreting (you don't say :rotfl:)
Interacting and Presenting (more the interacting thing I think )
    Leading and Deciding

and less likely to be a strength

Supporting and Co-operating (I'm a non-caring biyatch at work these days it seems!!! :rotfl:)

I was a bit surprised at the last one as I am very co-operative but I do tend to just keep my head down when someone is having a bad day at work, upset/pished off with the politics. I don't go for the group hug/come and talk to me approach. I tend to wait until someone feels I can help them and comes to me, so maybe it's true

oh, and according to the report, jobs I would do well in:

    Police Detective
Mental Health counsellor (I'd start on you lot!)
    Fireman :rotfl:
Accountant (are you having a laugh)
    Biochemist
    Web designer (yep, done that!)
    Creative writer (done that!)
Choreographer - erm.........can't dance for toffee

    and

banker/stockbroker.........:rotfl: with my money sense and sixth sense to pick shares that instantly plummet to nothing?!

Damn I came on here to say exactly this, but I was beaten to it (although I wouldn't have put it quite so well). :D

I really hope you do see today as a huge achievement though, regardless of the outcome. :)
