BB you have done really well whatever the outcome, as others have said far more eloquently than me. So give yourself a massive pat on the back & enjoy the takeaway and wine - you MORE than deserve them. XX

Well done for today BB........very proud of youxx

I will need some tips on interview techniques as I have my interview on 29th June.............for my own job:eek:
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

However, I got really stuck on some questions about data management and research management and the guy kept pushing and pushing - why would you do that? how would you do that? Yes, but how would you do that? It was awful, I mean really awful and the weakest area of my experience and to be honest, I didn't even understand a couple of the questions properly about data monitoring - I've just never done it, let alone managed people who do it.

"I would say to my Admin Assistant - 'Do that...' and lo! it would be done."

Very few managers know how to do the job of the department they are managing. Knowing that the department actually does those jobs is a leap too far for too many of them.
I know I did abysmally poorly with those questions. I felt so uncomfortable and the job felt more and more like a data/information/research 'dry' post rather than a creative, partnership working, community type post with some data/research attached.

Successful person to know by end of week.

    It won't be me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We'll see. But well done anyway. :T

    BB,
I don't know if this will make you feel any better but when DH went for his job with the fire service, they put them thru this test where they had to go into a 'test' burning house blind folded and find a victim-DH said you couldnt see a thing, it was cramped and they had to crawl around carrying a mansized doll that weighed 12 stone...he got to the 'end' and couldnt find his way out and since it was a timed test, decided to turn around and kicked the wall out with his legs 'BANG BANG BANG' and next thing you know and DH was standing there with the 'house' in a heap around him-he broke it, completely.

He came home utterly defeated and devasted concivinced he would never get the job, after all, he has destroyed valuable equipment...

However, over 10 years on, DH is STILL in said fire service. The way they saw it, it showed he would do anything to save someone. So, even when you're SURE you've messed up, you can never tell.

I'm sure you're in the running. xxxx

Wow BB - as someone who is terrified by standard everyday interviews, I am so so impressed and in awe at how you've dealt with a whole day of tasks, presentations etc. And as Toto says you've had so much work-related cr*p to deal with in the past, you should be very proud of yourself. Everyone will have areas of weakness in their skills/ knowledge, so just wait and see :)

Well done on surviving that interview BB... It sounded horrible! Toto is completely right - you have a lot to be proud of. Well done. :T :j :T

I've got my fingers crossed for you...

PS Is anyone else really curious as to what they would come out in an OPQ test? I'm hoping mine would be similar to BB's as I studied Biochemistry... :rotfl:

    aaaw, cheers all :D

Haven't heard yet. They said they would bet taking up references of the chosen candidate before letting them know and it should be by the end of tomorrow, but I guess that's just a smoke screen to buy them some time as policy is to take up references at the time of interview and another candidate said her manager had been approached.

but, onwards. Jobs day in the paper, got one but haven't looked yet and jobs day on a few local sites I check.

Was very bad last night and bought a bottle of wine and a chinese (whoops, slapped wrist).

Phoned Nat West about me locking the card with my £22 Quidco money in it and they are re-sending my PIN. I am still puzzled though as I am convinced the first 2 times were correct

Had my sticky labels from music magpie so am going to parcel up the CD's and get them off tomorrow or Saturday.

Rather foolishly I turned down 2 hours of teaching - but it was tonight. It was an IT session I've done before but I really have to get my teaching files sorted. I am being observed by 2 people on Monday night - 1 for my annual observation and 1 for the next stage of my teacher training and this afternoon/tonight is the time I'd set aside to sort both folders. After tax and NI, that's £25 I've turned down and normally I say yes to everything offered, but I do have to get this stuff done.

Have to say Bunny, your DH would be the fireman for me if he is that dedicated :D

    ermmmmmmmmm............just checked my bank account.

I've had another £110 paid in today from WTC!

So that's £46 and £78 paid to me on 8 June and now another £110??

Today would have been my 'normal' day to expect the WTC payment and has been £81 for the last couple of months so I'm guessing my new payment will be £110. :D

But the other 2 payments?? Perhaps it is from the day I gave them my new figures up to today

Never the less, a nice thing to find!!
