I honestly don't know what to do at the moment, DH went on tour again last Monday after having a bad night's sleep Sunday, he wanted to tell me something but didn't want me to worry about it while he was away. In the end he had to tell me Monday Eve as NHS Direct insisted he got to a local A&E immediately as they thought he was having a small heart attack!! The Dr he saw (Sorry but he was an indian/paki) said it wasn’t, he thought it was just stress but wouldn't hook him up to anything to start the ball rolling so to speak and find out what it was, told him he was fit to drive but if it became persistent (having pains in his chest, pins and needles in left arm for a week weren't enough apparently!!!) he had to get back in to A&E. So spent Monday night sh*tting myself as it took ages at the hospital and I didn't know how long it would take or what to expect, him being in Brighton while I was home didn’t help. Thank God for my Mum, she was up till he rang bless her, ringing every so often to check I was ok etc etc, got to bed sometime after midnight and because of that late night it screwed body up for the rest of the week. I was sooo glad to have him home Friday night! He's had a few more pains through the week and even one last night in bed, we weren't even up to anything, just a small playfight then he just stopped and lay still, bl*ody scary! Got him a Dr's appointment this morning but I had to come to work, he saw Dr at 10:35 and he didn't leave till 11:35! Yet again starting to brick it (which has tired me out as usual) Dr gave him an ECG, took some blood to check different things and signed him off for 3 weeks! Apparently there is a good sign which is that DH’s left nipple is very tender/sore (that’s what you call a good sign??) it is linked but I still don’t know what to, I’ve tried searching on internet and couldn’t find anything. Dr told him to book an appointment with the hospital tomorrow to get another ECG and something else, and then he has to go back to the Dr for a follow up etc. The Dr doesn’t know what it is and won’t even hazard a guess, he mentioned something to DH but it was a very long word and he’s useless with long words, muscular something, but they don’t know, which is why all the tests. Mum has offered to give us money for petrol to get down to her’s for a week, and money to get back up again, but we have to find out results of blood and when the hospital appointment will be before I let her and work know which week I’ll be away. Luckily my boss is ok with that.

The problem I am now facing is that we count on both our wages to get us out of our financial troubles, I love him so much and wouldn’t be without him for anything, but I now need to find a way to find some extra cash, preferably without my parents as they’ve already lent us some which we were hoping to give back as spending money for their holiday booked for Mum’s 50th and their 25th Wedding Anniversary, I can’t see us being able to give it back anymore :(

I’ve had to re-do my little financial spreadsheet after finding out what SSP is and we’ll be going over the overdraft by August, annoying thing is we were nearly out of it! So I need to find things we can cut, maybe use only one car while he’s off work instead of 2, just means he’ll have to bring me to work and pick me up although I don’t think he’ll mind, give him something to do as he’s not the sort of person to sit and do nothing, he’s fine apart from these pains which come and go so most of the time he’s ok. Going to look into what sort of help I can get with Council Tax, maybe housing benefit, but I don’t know how soon to think of these, I don’t have much time before we get to the limit on overdraft but on the other hand I don’t know how long it’s going to take to find out what’s wrong with DH. I don’t seem to like the simple life, with simple easy problems to sort!! lol

Hit my £10.10 on scratch this morning, so there’s a little money to cover costs etc. Managed to sort out my phone bill last week but won’t come into effect until after 15th July as that is my invoice date, have told DH that he is only to use his phone if he really needs to, I am doing the same, phone calls to me are free because of Orange Magic Numbers, but everything else is part of call plan, so told him to use his minutes wisely as we can’t afford to go over this month like he did last month, he was downloading games and music onto his phone, thanks to that this month’s bill was £114!!!!! I almost had heart failure myself when I saw that! Rang him straight away and told him not to download ANYTHING unless he checked with me first, will use landline in future to ring Mum or anyone else on landline numbers, will ring other mobiles using one of the mobiles but will only use them if we need to, have Unlimited Texts on his, mine did, but apparently I wasn’t using that many so have also cut my text amount each month also as well as call plan. I might get some money back next month but I’m not counting on it.

DH still hasn’t sorted out the SO for car repayments, although for the next few week’s he’ll be home so will be a job for him to do :)

Potted garden is still going well, potatoes were up to the top of the bag so have now filled up all the bags with more compost, lettuce’s, beetroots, strawberries and turnips doing well, pea’s, got one starting to flower. Blackberry seems to of stopped, not sure what’s going on with that one.
Kitten’s are still little monkeys! Great company though when on your own as they are so daft!

Can’t think of much else at the moment, brain is slowly getting frazzled by the heat in this office! Not helping the tiredness really but be able to go home in an hour.
    Hope everyone is well.
    Sal xxxx

Awww Sal - sorry I missed your post! You are having it so tough - it makes my difficulties look trivial. Hope your OH recovers well and they get to the bottom of what is wrong.... You sound like you have a great mum which is something that lots of people don't have....

It is a shame about the overdraft situation - but I am in the same boat this month I either break into the savings or go into overdraft shortly but I am worried if I used savings I would never put it back where with the overdraft I will be more aware of the need to clear it!

I am sure I have said it before but you are doing really well under extremely difficult circumstances. Take care xxx Hugs xxx

Right, finally we have had some good news :)
DH's pains, according to the Cardiology (sp?) Dr yesterday, whatever is causing these pains is definitely nothing to do with his heart :D It may of been from a pulled muscle (that lasted 3 weeks) or stress, we are leaning more towards the stress side of things :)
The next problem I've now got is he want's to go back to work asap instead of going to my Mum's for a few days!! He knows how much I miss my family and knew I was looking forward to going home for a few days and now he does this!! So I've told him I'll be going with or without him and I'll be taking his car as it's better on petrol :) I would prefer him to come but at the end of the day I'm not going to force him to go as he'll just be a miserable s*d all week!!!

Finances are beginning to look better, was suprised when checked the bank this morning as only expected around £30-£40 for DH being on sick and he got £110?? Will be asking him to make sure he get's his payslip tomorrow as he's a bu88er for forgetting!! So now with him going back to work soon, wether its next week or week after spreadsheet is beginning to look a little less red!!! lol Still using one car for the time being so that we have some extra cash for going to Cornwall :) Mum will give me the petrol money once I get down there, she was going to ask Sis to transfer some over to mine as my Sis has my bank details already as I've bought things for her from ebay and she's transferred the money straight in :) But told Mum we'd sort it once I get down there :) Cant wait to see everyone, I'm getting excited thinking about it :D :j

Hope the move has gone ok for you Jo and things get a bit easier for you soon SH xxx

    Hello :)

I'm back :) hehe Had a very nice time down with family, kinda overdid things a little which the ME/CFS did not agree with. DH been wonderful though by looking after me :) Got there at 3:30am Mon morning, Mum was awake  so had a cuddle then went to bed. Had good news Mon night, Mum had taken Tue, Wed and Thur off :T:j so Tue we had a little trip to Trago Mills (wonderful shop!!) but spent most of the day at home, had my hair cut in the evening, nice and short again :). Wednesday we went to Paignton Zoo, met up with Mum's friend and daughters, eldest has ME/CFS also and hasn't been doing very well but we all had a great time :) Thursday was very sore and achey after the Zoo so spent the day resting, went bowling with DH, Mum, Dad, Sis and BIL in the evening. Everyone bowled but me as everything was hurting too much, got home about 11pm ish although was half asleep at the bowling alley. Friday was on crutches as a result of Wed + Thur + not enough rest :o arms didnt like them very much so stayed home to rest most of the day, apart from a quick trip to Trago to get DH some new trainers as his were falling apart. Left Mum's at about 8pm and got home at 3:30am again, DH drove home as I wasn't able to. Weekend was spent hobbling around as walking was very difficult, DH insisted I sat in a chair when we went shopping (Did NOT like that!) but was ready to collapse trying to walk so gave in, felt like a plum being in the chair but got the shopping done atleast :o Still a bit wobbly but much better (probably because of the chair and resting all weekend) We have now compromised that on full days out (Zoo, Theme Parks etc etc) We will hire a chair for me so that I can enjoy the day properly and DH doesn't have to carry me or drag me around :) (Not an easy decision as I'm terrified of chairs as scared if I use one I'll never get out :o that my body will get used to it and never get better) but it makes DH happier so will behave myself from now on :D

Haven't really done much financially, set up a new bank account to be for Direct Debits and bills only! (Finally!) So now in process of changing everything over on my spreadsheet to include the new account. Got all the cards through and pin numbers, now need to change the pin number to something I can easily remember :)
Thinking we might stick to Grocery budget this month, not sure though, might be close but not sure as spent a little bit at Mum's.
Flylady, I'm having a rest this week and will hopefully start again properly next week, DH is back to work today so he will probably be away this weekend so will use the weekend to relax, if he's home I'll still be relaxing but more will get done as I'll ask him to do a few bits :)
The extra wages for DH was worked out, I forgot that he worked for 2 days in that week (Working week is Fri-Fri) so he had 2 working days and 3 sick days, made sense in the end :)

Cant think of anything else I've been up to, back at work again :( still looking for another job though, nothing much going at the moment though understandably.

Hope things look up for you soon SH *Hugs* xxx

Hi Sal glad you had a good time - hope your body recovers from the strenuous activity soon.... my sister has me so she has to be careful not to overdo things too! Glad you managed to work out why your DH had been paid what he had.... Lightens the load a little at least!

What lovely weather we are having today, cant make its mind up. Drive to work was in sunshine and then 5 minutes ago started raining!

As predicted, DH will be away on Saturday till Wednesday. Means a weekend where I can relax without the boys running me ragged!! And hopefully get a few little jobs around the house completed. Really want to re-sort my kitchen and clean the cupboards as I go so hopefully kitchen will be sparkling by Monday, even if nothing else is! :) hehe

Spreasheet is as good as sorted, but unfortunately looking like we might still be using the overdraft till next year now, not by much but still it's something I was hoping would of been sorted this year! If DH can make some extra money while away will be great.

He's had one phone call about a possible job at home but they were only looking for Part Time drivers, to cover the rush hour when the kids come out of school. Refused it as he needs Full Time job, so staying where he is for the time being, but atleast they rang and hopefully when a Full Time position comes up they'll ring again *fingers crossed its sooner rather than later*

Job front for me is still quiet, I'm staying where I am till I find something, I would consider Temp work but Temp is exactly that, Temporary where I have a permanant position where I am now. Need to find something permanant, asked in local supermarkets, (used to be a cashier when I was younger) Asda don't have anything to suit me at the moment, so got a Sainsbury's website to apply on, there's also a Morrisons near me and it was Safeway/Morrisons I used to work for. Will have to get DH to take me again as forgotten how to get there!!! :rotfl:

Body is getting back to normal again now, not so wobbly but still tired so will be early nights over weekend (apart from Sat as been invited to an Ann Summers party :) DH's cousin has invited me and she's the only one I know among her friends so will be weird for me)

SH is that the sister getting married? Glad you've found the car docs, they would be in the box that OH had looked through :o Men have a habit of not seeing what's in front of them! :) Even if it was in bright RED letters they'd probably still miss it

Feeling a bit :o at the mo and cant figure out what it is, like a robot who is just 'going through the motions' I'm here, but not really. If it makes sense. Hoping the party will lighten things up for me.

Have a nice weekend if I don't get on
    Sal xx

Hope you have a nice party tomorrow! The holiday sounded good, I've been thinking of saving somehow to get a little break next year, I've never really "done" regular holidays since I moved out of home (a looooong time ago - or at least it feels like that!) but I think they're something to look forward to for the family, a break from the old routine.

I know what you mean about not having done much moneywise, I have weeks like that too where there's not much to actually do but you feel like you're aching to have pennies to move about and juggle, to be able to pay little amounts off and watch the total going down...
