I do a similar thing with bands , as in music bands. I rarely get to G. Its very boring as well. And as its got easier over the years my "rules" are quite strict - no bands begining with "The" so you couldn't have "The Bee Gees" for B for example. No names so you couldn't have "Bryan Adams" for B or for A. My A's are usually Abba, All About Eve, Aerosmith etc. If it gets too easy then I have to name 3 songs by each band as well. Confusing or what! Been doing this for years and it really works for me. I find even if I have done the whole bath/fruit tea/easy read etcI can still have my mind whirling the minute the lights are out, tred writing stuff down etc but I can still have trouble so this works for me cos you can do it in the dark without getting up LOLblueberrypie wrote: »I try to name something starting with each letter of the alphabet - for example, a vegetable or fruit starting with each letter. Any time you think your falling off again I'll nudge you!!!;):rotfl:Flylady_Flower wrote: »Tag - just wanted to say, your long post was not in vain, as I have gone off the saving money wagon, so thanks for giving me a nudge in the right direction to get back on it - you do great as I know what it's like to shop around - WELL DONE YOU! :T
Everything in my post is just what I've found on this forum. Sometimes I trawl through really old threads that go back a couple of years. Normally very late at night when I am very, very bored.Of course you can be my apprentice;) Though it depends on if you can pass the 'peg test'rosepink1984 wrote: »Tag, your tips sound great thanks. Can I be your apprentice? I will copy you in every regard that you have mentioned in your wonderful post.
I was wondering how I can make a sanitizing spray? At the mo we use Dettol.
:rotfl:
I use a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle for wiping down the kitchen worktops. None of us have been ill yet. Just smells a bit chip shoppy for 5 or 10 mins til it evaporates. I'm going to PM you, probably in the morning now.
:TWay to go with your hens. How's the puppy with them? How badly do they trash the garden? Will they eat/peck at all the veggies I'm growing? And how is the puppy by the way? I didn't realise that they were as cheap to look after. thanks for that.Tag - great post. My 4 hens give me on average 3 eggs a day at a cost of about £1 a week for feed, straw, powder, etc, and take 5 minutes a day, then 10 mins once a week to clean them out. They really trash the garden though. Try putting a wanted ad on freecycle?
We certainly weren't expecting what was round the corner for us. It came right out of the blue and has taken a lot of adjusting to. As for the washing stuff, I was really surprised at how good it is. I've been using it for a good year or so now and have kicked myself on numerous occasions over the money I've wasted in the past.:rolleyes:tag - well done on the belt tightening. it's amazing what a difference it can make. we are ok financially, though you never know what's around the corner, but I am still trying to live as cheaply as possible, esp shopping-wise as it's all money for the deposit fund. I still use persil tabs for most laundry (though only one) and value powder for towels. I might try switching down to value stuff.toottifrootti wrote: »
TAG I am in awe of you for what you achieve and thank you for posting evn though it was off topic :T:T:T:T:T- I am delighted you have got the knack of ebay -its a great way to raise a little extra for the pot! It was your dailies list that inspired me to start mine and what a difference that has made. Thank you for being so inspiring. I hope DH gets work and things improve for you all this year.
Aw Toots....:o:o You've made me blush now.:o:o My daily list will be back at some point in the not to distant future. When my head is a bit more mended. If that's at all possible seeing as I was potty in the first place:rolleyes::rotfl::rotfl:Be thinking of you again tomorrow xx
As has been said many times before by numerous flyladies. This thread and it's posters are something else. It's a one stop shop for help, support, off loading, hints and tips, flying mules, inspiration, rescue remedies, a bit of a giggle, post runs ( mentioning no names - Valli, peg OCD sufferers (like Valli and me:rotfl::rotfl:) oh and I suppose I'd better put flying too:p :rotfl::rotfl:You name it and we pretty much cover itall between us.
Cos without ALL of us there wouldn't be a thread so that means we're ALL FANTASTIC!!:T:T:T:T

Toots - glad you have sorted soemthing that works for you. Please may I have a star for today.
Rach, it will be tomorrow morning if that is ok? Really busy day again.
Tag - hens peck at seedlings and play in dust baths (aka the veg plot). I use things like jam jars over plants to protect them till they are big enough to survive. They also generate compost at a healthy rate! Buff Orpingtons are meant to be better than most hens and I will have those next time. I suppose there had to be other people out there as crazy as me! Bands...never tried that one, but now I will. I wonder what else I could do...flowers, or herbs, or baked goods...or even an ABC of categories to come up with ABCs for...
