£192 is amazing if you lived off that, couldn't imagine that cos I spend that in a week on junk (sometimes a night when at lapdance clubs lol)...... :T :T
Well done you
Hi N-I-D,
I have to say I'm flattered by the offer, but it's actually Mr Dolphin and Mrs Dolphin wouldn't be too happy about it - the MS is for 'Money Saving' :rotfl:
And I have to admit, I didn't (and couldn't) live off £192. This money is from my self employed income - looking for a career change for obvious reasons. Mrs D contributed around £600; Global Test Market around £30, car boots etc another £100; payments for medical study screening visits £80 and Mum of MS D - a sack of spuds!!
Thanks again,
Mr MS D

I'm 29, income is about £41,000 and my debt is about 12,000. I have just cleared two of them tho. Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey and all that.
I've made it my goal to be mortgage free and debt free by my 40th. Then I can enjoy my kids who will still be young and crack on with my life.

In all seriousness, it's called a 'Lightbulb moment' and the fact that I have to live this way right now. After a long time in denial I've taken control and ownership of my situation (not that this stops me chasing the banks though
)
Maybe this is one for a separate thread, but seeing as you asked:
My situation I would imagine is typical of many who post on here, although I do recognise that with my past high earnings I have had some opportunities that many others haven't. My situation is largely of my own doing which is not the case for a lot of other people.
In the past I've had earnings of £50k+. With a high salary I felt pretty invincible, lived extravagently and gave no thought to 'tomorrow'.
Then for whatever reason, the income took a (dramatic) hit. Of course, I didn't believe it, "surely a temporary situation." So I kept up the lifestyle, funded by credit cards without the income to match it.
All of a sudden and surprisingly quickly, I'm in a position with debt of £45k and an inability to pay it.
I don't know which came first, the lightbulb moment or the inability to pay, but it doesn't matter because whichever it was it stopped me from getting any deeper.
So to today and I've re-assessed my priorities. I know what is important to me and have a 10 year plan to get there. Fundamental to that is sorting out credit issues now and that is pretty much the focus of everything I do. I've stripped almost to the bone any costs I possibly can. I could go down another £70 - £100 per month - back to the, "do I cancel Sky" question, but I have to have something to maintain my sanity.
Looking back over the last 9 months or so since I saw the light, I've (with tremendous help from my wife) achieved a heck of a lot, not least reducing my debt by around £20k along with several other fantastic things that I don't want to go into right now.
Going forward my aim is to get rid of all the debt by the end of 2010 and then push on to my real goals.
The hard thing is living hand to mouth. Its now cashflow that is the big issue rather than the amount of debt. I've no access to credit thankfully, but I still have high outgoings and have to meet them every month. Right now, I know I can pay for December, but January is looking very dodgy. But I've still got three weeks to work on that one!!
Just to add that I don't blame anyone but myself for my situation and I think this is the only way for me personally to think about it, because it also helps me in my efforts to get out of the situation. Don't get me wrong though, I do still have plenty of :eek::eek: days as well!!แล้วไงต่อ0
