Product Recall - Dentyl PH - Dentamint and Store Own Brand Mouthwash

I bought the green dentyl mouthwash can't remember it's flavour and started to become ill at the end of using it. By then the mouthwash had turned a horrible cloudy colour. I have had a bad cough and chest for two weeks and feeling really drained with it. I am now wondering if this mouth wash is the cause. I also bought 3 bottles of the clove flavour from Morrison's for a pound each but rather than get my money back I just want to exchange it for non contaminated mouthwash. There are not many alcohol free mouthwashes on the market, and recently the papers published that mouthwash containing alcohol may cause mouth cancer!!0

I've been using the green Dentyl for a couple of weeks now and have been putting up with constant headaches, sore throats for the last 10days.
Maybe it's just co-incidence, but as a precaustion I will stop using it and maybe return it to Tescos where I bought it from??0 -
Thanks to the original poster for highlighting this problem - like many others on this site I don't buy a regular newspaper and would have missed this recall otherwise. Funny that only Sainsburys is the only supermarket advising about the recall on their website.
I have been using a bottle I bought months ago and feel fine, though I've got two full unused bottles at home too. Sort of feel a bit reluctant to take them back as it's one of the few alcohol free mouthwashes I like the flavour of that isn't too strong (Exhileration in cool mint), but better to be safe than sorry I guess.
I've printed off the notice on the McBride website, I will be taking this with me when I go to Tescos this weekend in case they query it!

Saving cash on things like mouthwash seems crazy! Just buy what works i reckon and save elsewhere on non health related stuff0

Took my 2 1/2 bottles to Tesco and got a full refund for 3. Only question i was asked was the payment method. Also there was a recall notice behind the desk.0

Yes, but Dentyl is one of only a few products that doesn't contain alchohol and is supposed to be a market leader!
I bought a BOGOF deal at Tescos as it's quite pricey.0 -

That's why I buy Dentyl, but then again I only tend to buy it when it's on special offer as it's so expensive. If it was cheaper I'd buy it more regularly.
The only other alcohol free one I've found that I like is the Oral B one, but that is also pretty pricey, but I can usually buy it from a stall in my local market for a quid less than it costs in Boots or the supermarkets.
I have to use the alcohol free mouthwashes - I've got sensitive teeth and the normal mouthwashes make my gums sting. If I have been of any assistance, or my information is useful, please press the "Thanks" button0 -

the mouthwash always goes cloudy towards the end ( i think it even says it on the bottle), i doubt that is related to the recall0 -
Can't help noting that Dentyl was on special offer BYGOF and in the pound shops in the weeks leading up to its recall - distinct feeling "they " knew something was wrong before the public were informed - simple economics = sell contaminated product - then issue recall knowing a large percentage will not return for refund...
When we take it back do we get "full refund" i.e. RRP ( £3.95?) ???0 -

Not taken mine back yet, but if you read previous posts you will see that everyone so far is getting refunded the shelf price per bottle. If you happen to be shopping at a particular store most weeks anyway, it's not really going out of your way to take the item back is it?
What is pretty shocking is the distinct lack of publicity over the recall - one small newspaper article and odd posts on some websites, not very good is it?If I have been of any assistance, or my information is useful, please press the "Thanks" button0
