My battle with budgeting - a thread to keep me motivated

  • LATE, I went to court on my own, it was fine honestly!

Update on me, EHTB is asking me to pay my half of the joint loan we had - this amounts to about £200 a month! I've told him I'm sorry that I left him with this debt but there's no way I can pay this. I am now worried he will stop paying child maintenance to try and recoup his money.. I know he cannot legally do this as I could go to CSA or something, but I know that he would just give up his job if I did this, he threatened to do this when I asked for more maintenance - he currently pays £25 a week, and takes home about £1700 pm!

Just another worry on top of everything else..

Oh yeah and in the same breath he told me he is off to Spain at the end of the month for a week - that really lifted my mood I can tell ya!

  • He isn't the first ex husband I've had to deal with unfortunately :D

First ex was always a !!!!!! for paying his way, at the time I didn't really care because I worked and didn't need his money. Ex number 2 seems to be taking his lead from ex no.1 - he knows I never pushed the first one for money, so thinks I'll be the same with him.

I've been thinking about it and feel that he won't stop paying because he will be worried that if he does I will stop access to his daughter. I wouldn't as I'm not like that, but I'm sure the doubt would be in his mind. Hopefully this fear alone will keep the payments coming
