I always try to get a money off code but we are just struggling a bit to get enough points to cover my daughters rac which is why I'm going for this as she needs it for May statement.
If you are talking about groceries, then as long as you meet the spend limit there is usually no problem with codes being added, so phoning while the driver is there should not be necessary.
Wine orders, however, are a different matter and often cause problems. I find that the best way to get the points added is to phone up & be very polite & say you can't understand why the points have not been added - make sure you get a name. Then follow up with an e-mail saying that you have another order to place but need to be sure the first one is resolved before placing it. This has never failed for me, and I have always got the points due (eventually)
The key is to be nice & polite and get them on your side, rather than arguing and getting their back up.0 -
I have never ordered groceries on-line, and have just had the two wine orders from Tesco. However, both have been problematic with regard to the points (see post above).
Why on earth is this? If there is no problem with the grocery points, then why can't the same apply to the wine orders? I just don't understand why it is so different.0 -

Couldn't agree more - I apologised to the woman on the other end of the phone and told her I didn't mean to take it out on her, but ...... We actually had a bit of a laugh and a joke about it all.
However, you have to be careful what you say as some of the customer services representatives give you the third degree, as though it is the customer who is in the wrong! I really do think this is an attitude problem that Tesco needs to address.0 -
HI ive just ordered some wine with one of those 1200 points codes i went for 25cl bottles (2 packs of 6) 12 bottles in total as it says minimum 12 bootles so should i be ok for the points still as they are 25cl and not 75cl?

As no one was able to answer my question, could someone tell me if they use on-line codes do they get their points in the form of a voucher with their statment ? I am sure they have made a mistake with my account.0

I use the online codes for groceries and receive my vouchers with my statement, I would phone back and speak to someone else, the whole reason for collecting points for most of is to convert them into deals.

I started useing Toesco home del. about a year ago using the codes from here for £10 off etc. After a while they didn't deduct the £10 and when I phoned to query this they said I wasn't signed up to receive on-line vouchers (even though they had been excepting them for several months). Therefore I signed up for them. When I got my October statement, instead of giving me vouchers that I could use for club deals they broke the amount down into £5 's and each one had a code. When I queried this they said I could only use this money for groceries. So that I could use this money for club deals I changed back as not requiring on-line vouchers. Now they won't accept codes on line. Does anyone understand this. Obviously I want to use on-line codes for discounts and free points etc. but I also want to use my points for club card deals as there are worth much more. Advice please.2 angels in heaven :A0
