You can't eat chicken and pork uncooked as it has bacteria.
I used to hate steak as MIL would only cook it well-done, when I cook my own it is soft and beautiful.
Tip - as per Jamie Oliver. Cook it high on each side for 1 minute, whilst the meat is cooking, rub a garlic clove over it then reduce heat and cook for 3-4 mins on each side. Ruddy gorgeous!

You ladies have got me wanting rare steaks now .
TBH, I have still been eating things I shouldn't technically. When I first got pregnant I followed the rules to the letter. we went to a particularly nice restaurant and I asked for a poached egg to be well cooked, I got such a look of disgust from the waiter, I was mortified! But now I eat the occasional runny egg and have my steak medium/well rather than medium/rare etc.
Good luck to all ladies with scans today.
I am off to see my midwife later, and will hopefully get to hear the heartbeat again. :jValue of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

I've now shut my office door!! Never do that unless I'm in a meeting or telling someone off - they'll all be wondering who's getting it this time :rotfl:
Takes OH about 30mins to get home but his work are being horrid at the moment - can u believe they have given him a job description which says
'Must be able to work long and often unsociable hours and be prepared to change personal plans where necessary' and then made a point about him coming with me for scan when he is supposed to be off tomorrow.
I booked scan 7 weeks ago and day off was Weds - is it my fault it got changed at last minute?!!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

am i the only one who has to have cooked meat
its my idea to why people get ill from meat... coz its not cooked it was even proven (i'll have to search for it) that is one of the reasons why more ill from meat is spread because over the years people have chose to have rare ... sorry but theres no way in heaven hell or earth i would eat undercooked meat and red to me means undercooked x
Still searching .....:)

LOL Glam!
Sorry to hear about your DH's work - mine's not that much better. They made him take holiday for his gran's funeral so that probably says enough (my boss let me go 'for free' even though it wasn't my gran - he knows I do my work, trusts me and is happy to be flexible) Luckily his immediate boss has 2 small ones so is showing a totally uncharacteristic generosity with regards to scans (altho I think he knows he shouldn't push DH on this one!) DH is one of the best performing salespeople so boss knows he's earning his salary for him :rolleyes:MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

Searching - don't knock it til you've tried it. Honestly - I am a right fussy eater and normally end up overcooking things like chicken and pork cos I'm paranoid about getting Food Poisoning but steak is beautiful under cooked.
Why not just do it medium to well and see how you like it - it doesn't have to still be running round your plate :rotfl:
My dad pops it under the grill for 2 minutes 'just to take the chill off' and he's NEVER ill!!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I agree with Glam - it's unlikely to be the cooking that makes ppl ill from beef but the state of the meat itself. I'm happy to go basic on a lot of products but we always go to waitrose for the meat (even better than our local butcher).MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!
