That's lovely Tara! Its a shame you can't get samples from furniture stores lol... I do love the cotbed too... Although the drawer underneath is the same as the drawer under Aimee's cotbed and I just found it a nuisance... It would be much better if it was 2 drawers...

for good under cotbed storage I've got 2 fabric boxes from ikea they're royal blue with a red lid reinforced with wood I think (its hidden) and fit perfectly under Chris's bed - they don't show on the website but I'm sure I've seen them instore recently

Grr! Why are my Midwives so blurgh??!! I've had 2 appointment now at the childrens centre and ech one the MW are so unengaging and sh1te.. they make you feel like such an inconvenience by being there. The student did the usual checks, wee, bp etc - the proper MW looked through note and down through her glasses at me she did ask if I had any questions and looked throughly put out when I said yes. I had to ask for my MAT B1, I'm sure she rolled her eyes when I asked for HiPG form, and god, I really put her out when I asked if she had any information about the classes they offer. :mad:

Anyway, I rang hubby when I left the centre - told him they were !!!!! and so un-interested, then I got a tap on my shoulder. It was the student MW hading me my notes back I then went on to trip over a curb and fall over, whilst on phone still. Stupid me- trying to balace handbag, carrier bag, stupid blue folder, the n otes I was handed back and the phone - landed on my knees :rolleyes:

Does anyone know if you can get the HiPG forms from anywhere other than your midwife? Ours wouldn't give out the forms until the 1st april and now surprise surprise they haven't got any as they only ordered a few packs (surely they know how many preg women are on their lists!) I've still not managed to even apply for the grant and I'll be 39 weeks on wednesday, be lucky if I get the money before baby starts school or even at all.

Also can we not have anymore births please I'm getting far too close to the top of that list and I need to get a big shop in at the weekend before he arrives!

Just a quickie - when is the next MW appt after the 20-week scan - can't remember if it's supposed tobe 22 or 24...

If your midwife or doctor doesn't have any claim forms, please call the Health in Pregnancy Grant Helpline on Tel 0845 366 7885 and let them know. The Helpline will arrange to send a form directly to your midwife or doctor, who will then give it to you to make your claim.

Unfortunately the only place to get them IS your MW... but you can help the process along...

Oh NMS, that's pants! Hope the student midwife heard you though, and when she qualifies she might be a bit more engaging...

Claire, as far as I know, you can only get them from the midwife.... Fancy not giving them out until 1st April! ridiculous people!

ML, think it's 24w and then 28w for bloods...

According to a study on ‘The length of uncomplicated human gestation’ by the Department of Epidemiology, Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts, they found: “For primiparas (first child), the median duration of gestation from assumed ovulation to delivery was 274 days, significantly longer than the predicted 266 days. For multiparas (more than one child), the median duration of pregnancy was 269 days, also significantly longer than the prediction. Moreover, the median length of pregnancy in primiparas proved to be significantly longer than that for multiparas”

in laymans terms 1st Child usually born at 41+1
2nd+ child usually born at 40+3
so I got them a bit jumbled when I tried to just remember earlier

just to note that the study used Median with is not really the best type of average they would have been more accurate to use the Mean:cool:

Ironically so far the MWs I've met at the hospital have all been very nice... it's just my regular MW who's a miserable so and so! The one in the delivery suite (when i went in for observation) was lovely and friendly. I felt terrible because as soon as I got there Roo was bouncing like a loon but she hadn't been until then! But she didn't seem to mind at all and just said they'd rather people err'ed on the side of caution

Just as well I am not going for a home birth I guess I'd end up with the miserable one I bet you! LOL
