    Hello

My first post on this thread...

Got a BFP (1st child) last week and we are slowly getting used to the prospect of being 'with child'!

Currently terrified of every niggle, ache, pain, sneeze, cough, yawn that it may be a sign that I might have a m/c. Also, terrified that I have no symptoms at all.

I have made an appointment for Friday at the Docs, can anyone advise anything else I should be doing? I have read the websites about food to avoid. When should I see a midwife and get my first scan?

    Sorry for the ramble!

    :j
    congrats!!
did you tell the receptionist why u were booking the appointment? the reason I ask is that at my GPs you book ur own app with MWs no need to see the GP

welcome and congrats to the newbies!!

newmoneysaver - that HiPG form is a pain. I told my midwife last week that I needed it, and she said "fine, no problem, I'll pop it in the post for you." That was Monday, and I still haven't seen it, so will have to call her and bother her again tomorrow about it.

I've got the MatB1 form - I know the MA isn't supposed to start until at least 29wks, can you send it in sooner than that so that the paperwork is organised in time to start at 29 wks? Or do I have to wait that extra couple weeks? I'm 26wks now.
I sent mine signed and dated the day I was 25 weeks and they sent it back saying I had to change the date  the date they wanted me to sign it for was when I was 26+3:confused: (even though it had taken them over a week to open my envelope and by the time I got it back said date had passed:rolleyes:)

Does anyone know if you can get the HiPG forms from anywhere other than your midwife? Ours wouldn't give out the forms until the 1st april and now surprise surprise they haven't got any as they only ordered a few packs (surely they know how many preg women are on their lists!) I've still not managed to even apply for the grant and I'll be 39 weeks on wednesday, be lucky if I get the money before baby starts school or even at all.

Also can we not have anymore births please I'm getting far too close to the top of that list and I need to get a big shop in at the weekend before he arrives!

MW has to complete it - it can'#t be signed by anyone other than a MW.
MW's can only order small batches - I had to order 5 packs of 50 to top up the 5 packs of 10 that the MW could order as the DoH just won't let them order any more.

Where does the time go?
  • Oh no, all that talk of icecream just forced me to go to the freezer - I had to prise my fingers off the pralines and cream after I demolished about 2/3 of a brand new tub!!!

    Feeling v ashamed...

Welcome Maybebaby, My frist appointment was at my docs and he arranged for the booking appoinment with the MW, they seem to do it differently everywhere.

Shell, so sorry to hear your news, at least there is still hope that they can treat her and radiotherapy has come a long way in the last few years.
